WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

[ He's doing some actual exploring, today, of the entire second floor!

The first place he finds himself pausing in is the music room. It's inside there, he takes a moment to misuse the instruments - yes, all of them, every single one. It'll be obvious to anyone coming into the room, within seconds of stepping inside of it, that he either has no experience or no fucks to give when it comes to these things.

Spoiler: it's both.

Also, at some point, he discovered the Otamatones. The poor Otamatones did nothing to deserve the sounds he's making come out of them.

Vanitas will be found in each of the remaining places at one point, but the other place he pauses the longest is the animal cafe, where he can be found... trying to figure out how to Cat. A few of them seem interested in him, while he seems confused by them. The arcade ties with the cafe in length of time he spends there, but he's mostly just trying to figure out how video games work - he's... not very good at them, and that is apparently annoying him. ]

This thing is clearly broken.

[ Finally, on the the Child Day Care has him... pausing by it to stare. He'll be gesturing at it with his thumb, looking at anyone who happens to be passing by. ]

[ That's warning he'll get before she's there with her arm already sliding to link up with his arm. She does notice the leashes. ]

Do you think after all the fighting you've done and the trouble Sataling has found they decided we needed this?

[ He blinks... and then sighs as he looks down at their arms, back up to her. He turns his head a bit, a hint of color appearing on his cheeks. Nevermind that he has no fucking clue what that's about.

There's a shrug of his shoulders at the questions. ]

Sataling... You mean Akira, right?

[ Vanitas has overheard it said to him... once, he thinks? Anyway-- ]

No way is anyone getting one of those things on me, either way.

[ Nodding. She calls him it at meetings and other gatherings. ]

Yup yup. The Staff call him Mr. Satan for some reason.

[ She isn't sure why. ]

Think they could fit me?

[ Want to put a leash on Cinque. She's curious ]

[ He glances in the last direction he thinks he recalls seeing Akira in..... ]

It did say he likes Satan on his profile, right?

[ There's a slight frown. ]

So, that'd mean he just likes himself.

[ A blink is given at the question. ]

You want to wear it?

[ She has no idea who or what Satan is... but... ]

Do you think he married himself?

[ Can you do that?

Also thinking about it. ]

Maybe! I haven't ever tried before.

[ No one has really... ]

Or we can pretend I'm wearing one by holding hands?

[ He opens his mouth... then closes it!!

What. Even is that question. ]

I feel like there's a word for someone who'd do that.

[ Vanitas shakes his head... and then blinks. He stares at her over that last question. There's the faintest hint of a blush - later, he'll question why she's able to make his face heat up, so easily???? ]

[ Finally peering his head into this room today...and what is even going on in here with all of this noise? ]

...What're you doing? Are you trying to find an instrument you like?

[ Vanitas' expression doesn't change from a casual calm as he holds the otamatone up so that it's in Roxas' face.

It doesn't change as he lets the thing make a looooong sound... ]

... Something like that.

[ Roxas stares at Vanitas, and then tries to see if he can snatch it right out of Vanitas' hands because that is just the most Annoying Sound In the World due to everything this place was. ]

...Orrr just really messing around.

[ Tiiiiniest hint of something playful in his grin now. ]

Allergic to fun, Roxy?

[ Roxy is such a ridiculous nickname, so of course he's using it teasingly. ]

[ Vanitas, oh my god...he tries to fight it, but his cheeks are coloring. Vanitas' saying that on purpose to embarrass him and he knows it - ]

...Wha - why're you calling me that now?

[ Reaching for that Otawhatever now! Give it!! ]

And I know how to have a lot of fun, thanks.

And, fiiiiine... Fine. Vanitas will let him grab the thing!!!! There's a lifting of his eyebrows at the latter part. ]

Do you, now? [ cocking head to the side a bit ] Let's hear it, then.

[ He shakes his head, turning to face her. ]

Someone asked if it has something to do with how much trouble some people have been causing.

[ SOME... PEOPLE, VANITAS...? Really.......? ]

Hmm... I guess so. It does look kinda like a jail.

Yeah, it's true. Except we're not strapped into anything, which kinda helps.

[Tsumugi is doing her best to not laugh, but her hiding her mouth behind a hand really isn't doing much to stifle her giggles.]

[ He gives her a quiet huff-like response before waving a hand vaguely in her direction. ]

Yeah, yeah. Go ahead and get it out of your system.

[ ANYWAY!!! ]

I just need some practice, and then I'll be able to make you eat those words.

[At that, she fully allows herself to let out all her laughter.]

W-well, I'll be waiting in anticipation for your eventual mastery of the game.

[Tsumugi's laughter has died down enough for her lean forward and look at the arcade machine he's at right now. What kind of game is he playing?]

[ It issss... this!

... Vanitas has no rhythm nor has he ever used a gun, but. Listen . . .

It looked cool. ]

While you're waiting, how about you show how good you are at it?

A rhythm shooter game... yeah, I can do that.

[She's better at rhythm games than shooter games... but she is a Danganronpa. When she starts the game-- after reading the instructions first. Always check the sides of an arcade machine for them.-- she picks it up fast. At this rate, her first score is going to be higher than Vanitas' last one before the game ends.]

[ Well, it would be a lie if said there's absolutely no desire to distract her? To put a stop to her crushing his score?

... But, in the end, winning through cheating would make him look even more pathetic, wouldn't it? This has nothing, at all, to do with the fact that some part of him has grown to like her. Nothing, at all

He will just take a loooooong sip of his drink as he watches, studying her technique closely. ]
