WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

animal cafe

[Tsumugi is chilling out in the animal cafe as well. Her hair is up in a bun to prevent any animals from batting at it. She's currently petting a grey cat and glances up curiously at Rean's question. It's pretty obvious what her answer to his question is, so she focuses on the second part.]

Eh? Which ones haven't you seen before?

Well, there's that one [a pointed look over at the capybara], but some of the birds are pretty different from what I'm used to, too.

[are there birds in here? well there are now. but more specifically, he says this when looking at a couple bird-of-paradise species.]

That's a capybara... and those are birds-of-paradise.

[A thoughtful look forms on Tsumugi's face.]

They're all exotic species... I wonder how they got here.

Kind of an ironic name, all things considered.

[He squints at the birds-of-paradise, head turning as he watches one fly across the room.]

They seem to be able to grab any number of strange things to give us, so I assume it's the same mechanism as that.

They don't usually live in snow hell hotels you know...

[Just saying.]

That makes sense.

Haha... I figured, but it's the idea that they've been brought here and are being kept as pets. In that sense, this place really is their home for now.

[Anyways. He shakes his head as if to clear that thought.]

Where do they normally live, then?

I see... you're right. There is kind of irony in them being here.

[She pauses at the question about where they usually live.]

Umm... more tropical places I think. Like... Australia and Indonesia, I think?

[She's not the Ultimate Bird Watcher.]

So warmer climates, basically. But uh... I'm guessing those are countries?

They are.

[A nod.]

You could probably find a geography book in the library if you want to look... or a book on birds maybe?

Haha... I'm starting to think I should. For the geography part, at least. I don't think learning about these birds is that important, but learning more about the world we're in wouldn't be a bad idea for when we get out of here.

Well... I think it's the same as where I'm from, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Haha, thanks. [He awkwardly scratches his cheek with a finger. I'm not really sure what a tutorial npc is supposed to be though.
