WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

[Blue Angel's eventually going to wander over because you can never escape the animal cafe or the soft room for long; it's like the siren song of fur and fluff following you into your dreams and across the resort. It's enough to make you wonder whether it's the resort itself keeping you here, or the sparkling eyes of creatures like the cat on the table.

... She crouches down so she can pillow her head on her arms on the table, eye-level with the shutter shades and the cat and stuff.]

Cinque and... Nanashi, right? Do you guys really need free hug signs to give free hugs? Or is the cat giving free hugs?

[She's not really sure if you can hug a cat. She's pretty sure that gets you scratched most of the time.]

[resortghosts]

[In reply, the sign and glasses leap up - oh, there's red gloves on the hands too, that helps - and dashes to her side, arms wide for a hug.]

[She makes a noise of amusement and moves up into the ghost hug -- which is super weird, but a little better when she knows roughly where limbs and other extremities are, and so despite the ghosty element it's not that much weirder than a regular hug for her. Anyway. There have been so many hugs lately, what's a few more.]

You're really prepared, huh. Isn't it hot with all that on?

[Do. Do ghosts get affected by temperature.]

[Huuug! It's nice and tight. And afterwards, the shades move side to side. Nope, we're good!]

[We are good indeed. Once the hug has been dispensed she settles a little to the side of their table, where a small knot of rabbits has assembled -- maybe it's Nanashi's influence? Maybe his ears are a bunny beacon? Whatever it may be, Blue Angel is shortly covered in bunnies.

If Nanashi wants to join her, he, too, may be covered in fuzz. They're wearing wee bowties and real excited about the company. They're not as excited about the cat, which is probably why they're trying to hide under her skirts.]

Jeez, that tickles. Pretty sure these are your fault, too. [she's going to extract a bunny and try to put it on him, if he's close enough to the ground for it to be safe] How many other customers have you guys had?

[Judging by the movement of the sign, gloves, etc. He does! Seems he's in a crouch, reaching for one of the rabbits--

You can practically hear the "ah" as it hops away from him. Oh well. He reaches up to the table and drags something invisible to type on.]

Wow, you guys seriously have ghost tablets?

[She was joking about that!!

She's not entirely sure how they'd be communicating otherwise, though -- for a second at the start she'd thought Strawberry Appy-kun was a ghost in the machine. She's not entirely sure still if the truth is stranger or not. Anyway. She's going to keep trying to put bunnies on him, just idly.]

... Did you meet one of the other guests? Which one?

Repeating it doesn’t actually help, you know.

[It’s just the smallest bit dry. Slightly desiccated dialogue. She shakes her head after a moment because yeah, time isn’t going to make this make more sense. So.]

... Does that mean they can see the Jorogumo and the Barghest?

it means they can see other planes of existence!

they said it's weird for them to be targeting people from other universes though

[Fuzzy godzilla monsters with googly eyes that can see other planes of existence. Okay. If they all put on googly eyes, could they see ghosts?? More importantly, we're getting plot information from muppets now and she has to deal with this development.]

I'm starting to think your godzilla fuzz monster knows a lot more about this Resort and where we come from than all of us.

i think people where they're from can all see whatever's on my current... plane of existence? and people who are "life-challenged"

they came here for vacation. apparently the resort is very highly rated!!

Did they really call you life-challenged.

[She's 150% not sure if she should start laughing or be offended on Nanashi's behalf or adopt this terminology at this point because there are no depths of nonsense this place won't stoop to. She ends up doing a weird facial expression that looks kind of like she needs to sneeze.]

I honestly can't tell if they're in or out of the loop anymore. But... [a thoughtful pause] If the Monsters aren't supposed to be attacking us, then what would they usually do?

yup!

i don't know. they had to leave and do vocal training. i think it's because they're an actor. they work with like, little... kids? little godzilla kids???

What kind of training does a godzilla do? Godzilla kids??

[She could probably keep asking questions until their common doomsday and still keep going, but she's going to show some restraint. Sort of.]

... I wonder if we could talk to them more once they're done training. It kind of sounds like they're not under the same rules we are.

they work on a tv show!!! they're an actor.

and they gave me a HUGE cookie before they left :9

It really does sound like they're prepared for kids...

[Even godzilla kids like cookies, apparently. Cookie Gojira truly is the bridge between humans and other universes...? There are so many mysteries here. The most important part is that Nanashi is an honorary godzilla kid now or something.]

They live in the resort, right? I'm guessing the second floor.

[The place they weren't allowed to go before. There's more exploring to do.]

[ They are free to wander all they like. Cinque gives a bright smile as she nods enthusiastically ]

We do. Then everyone knows they can just come up and hug us. [ A look to the cat ] Well, most of us.

[ Cinque may have already tried. But they are friends now! She'll move to be next to Aoi and put her head on her arms on the table. Then she'll lean into her. ]

Are you here for hugs?

Two out of three is totally still false advertising.

[Have a laugh, she's imagining Cinque and the cat at a hug impasse and it's made exponentially funnier by the actually cat-eared hat. There's an amused glance when Cinque comes over to join her and she leans back. The cat is probably wondering what the hell they're doing and whether they're conspiring against it.]

Anyway, I'm just here for the animals.

[Animal-eared present company not explicitly excluded.]

That one is just a party crasher.

[ Honestly! ]

I think they are jelly over our operation and doesn't want to admit it.

[ Reaching over to pet the cat down it's slinky back. ]

There's even squirrels in here! Did you see?

I do hear that cats are really good at party crashing.

[She's going to poke at its paws.

It seems to be a chill cat and doesn't try to flex its claws at her, so she's going to try for toe beans next. Living life on the edge...! They're both still just crouched at the table like idiots aren't they.]

And it's not only squirrels. There's birds, and even pigs and some things I haven't even seen before.

[Maybe Ryoga can find a friend!]

[ They can set up a friend speed date! Rotate the pigs until the find the perfect one!

And yes. They are both still just crouched at the table. Cinque is mostly comfy there with Aoi there. ]

I've never seen so many animals in one area before. It's really nice.

Her legs are going to get tired soon from crouching here, but for now she's content to mess around with the cat. It gets a little restless and bats at her, but she just pulls her hand back with a shake of her head. It's not quite annoyed enough to scratch yet, so she leaves it alone.]

You're really trying to take over the table, huh?

[Anyway, to Cinque:]

That's how cafes like this usually go. There aren't usually this many different kinds, though. Usually it's like... dogs, cats, rabbits, owls, and smaller ones.
