Week 4

It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.

The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.

Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

Post-game
[After the game earlier, Atsushi is left in quite a state. A rather fuzzy and cute state, wandering around the house as a silver tabby.

Unfortunately, this means he's navigating the world from a very small point of view. He's wandering around, ducking under things to get through the house. The first order of business for him?

Checking on people. He'd thought the game would be safe this time, and it wasn't and... he was worried, not to mention he felt guilty after all the effort people went through with Byakko. So if he knows you, you'll get a small cat approaching you, a soft questioning mew drawing attention.

Hi. How are you?]

Kitchen
[He's hungry. This is a problem.

There is a cat in the kitchen trying valiantly to figure out a way to open the fridge, but all it's managed so far is to end up awkwardly dangling from the door handle with a plaintive meow. Help?

He's so hungry, sob.]

Studio
[And at some point, later in the day... there's a stray cat sniffing around the studio.

It's risky, but maybe....? Can he look around backstage?]

[Atsushi can absolutely go looking backstage! There's a lot of construction going on, as the prinnies seem to be building what looks to be a large table and several chairs. Whatever game is coming on Saturday, it seems to be one that involves sitting.

The prinnies also won't stop him from exploring, so he can go further if he likes. Does he want to look into the back room where the prinnies relax?]

[Huh. That doesn't really tell him much... maybe musical chairs? That's a game people play, right? Is it enough chairs for everyone?

He does notice the prinnies not stopping him though, so he figures he might as well explore a little more! Have a small and adorable feline visitor, prinny back room.]

[He will find the back room pretty easily! And interestingly enough, there are several empty prinny costumes lying about. Atsushi won't be able to see the souls themselves, but it seems like they can take off the prinny costumes in this area.

There are also a few unique prinny costumes hanging up that should look familiar.]

[Empty prinnies...! Welp.

He's going to hopefully assume this is a deliberate choice and the souls haven't just poofed somewhere. He'll inspect one of the more familiar, unique costumes, maybe the red and black one if it's there, while making a show of sniffing and batting at them like a cat would. He's trying to see if there's anything different about them.]

[As Atsushi is sniffing it, the prinny costume sort of...lifts up? Like, it's not full like it would be if a soul were in it. It's all flat and stuff.

And now it's dancing around in front of him in a rather ridiculous manner.]

[You know that startled jumpy thing cats do when surprised???

Atsushi is totally doing that right now.]

[Well, he's not the only hungry animal in the place - and as he hangs from the door handle, Moriarty - as a Westie - comes up, looking up at him calmly.

My dude, you're like 10 pounds. What did you think was going to happen.]

[Listen: hope springs eternal, especially for hungry household animals. Even if Atushi isn't actually a cat, his stomach has always had a way of dictating questionable life choices.

Like the one that has him hanging here with a sulky 'mrr' sound offered in response to Moriarty's stare. Don't judge him, geez! Maybe if he tries to swing his weight a little--

...Oooor he could just fumble and fall.]

[Moriarty makes no rush to save him from the fall, as he's well aware that cats land on their feet, even from short distances.

...Also, he's relatively sure he still has a bad back, even as a dog.

Once Atsushi is on solid ground, he trots over and sniffs him for a moment before sitting down.

What now, cat.]

[ honestly she could help him out and fix this, but.

she doesn't want to use the new ability that she just got publicly considering what it is. could be useful for later. ]

Oh, I-- [ hm. ] I'll get you something. Just wait a little while longer.

[ just give her a second to open the fridge and give him some fish. and putting that on a plate.

here you go, catsushi, some food. ]

[Inaba, you are a goddess to cat kind. Tiger kind. Something like that.

The eager 'mrew!' is meant to communicate appreciation and thanks, and he's practically bouncing his way over to that plate of fish when she puts it down.

Oh food, glorious food! Magical food, wonderful food, marvelous food! He owes you his life, Inaba-chan.]

[ she can't help but chuckle a little bit sheepishly, watching him carefully as she crouches down.

Haha. This is the first time I've fed a cat, actually. When Atsushi turned into a cat before, he was really surprised when I suddenly picked him up and wanted to pet him and bring him to my room. He almost tried to get out of my arms because he couldn't tell who I was.

[Nomnomnom-- okay maybe not, but he is very happy to chow down on that fish, looking terribly pleased with his meal.

He does pause after a moment to glance up at her, a questioning look on his face and a chunk of fish in his mouth. Really?]

He couldn't see me at that time.

[ she sounds a little sad. ]

[...Oh.

So she'd been....

His ears droop a little at that.]

Post-game

[Well, Saki's laying on the couch in the common room with her arm over her forehead, so. Could be better, probably?

It looks like she's dozing.]

[He's somehow not surprised, after the way that game had gone. He hops up onto the couch next to her, tucking himself close to her head, in the crook between neck and shoulder.

Maybe the warmth will help?]

[She stirs at the sudden fuzzball, blinking sleepily at him.]

Atsushi...?

[Saki gets a soft, affirmative 'mew' in response. He'll cuddle a bit closer.

Saki likes cuddles, so she'll get cuddles.]

[It was only a doze, so she's back to awareness quickly enough.

Can she pull him into a loose hug? She promises not to crush him.]

Good morning, Atsushi.

[The words come out like a sigh, still a little sleepy, still a little wry.]

[She can indeed! He'll easily let her tug him into a hug, snuggling a little closer in that squirmy way cats do.

Was she okay? She looked tired.]

Post-game

[He petted Dogiarty, so now it's time to give the kitty some attention. Leo crouches down and offers his hand first to see if Atsushi is open to being petted.]

You hanging in there, man?

[scarsnstripes]

[Atsushi is very open to pets! He'll nudge his head against Leo's hand after a moment, offering a 'mew' of greeting.

Hey Leo, he's hanging in there.]

[Good kitty. Leo loves animals, and even though he knows this is Atsushi, he can't help himself, just like he couldn't with Moriarty. He scritches Atsushi's cheeks with both hands.]
