Week 4

It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.

The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.

Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

[Ingway hadn't intended to interrupt her- he was just doing his house inspections. But he sees the injuries at a glance]

Ah, Elle! What happened?

[It being Ingway makes this a lot easier to explain, actually.]

Well, you know that sword we planted the other day? Apparently I have to prove myself worthy by fighting its previous wielders. I've been fighting one every night, and last night was... Pretty tough.

Well, it was a good experience anyways, though.

[darkova]

Did you know that would be the case when you planted it?

[duskhound]

I didn't, but they did explain it to me when I went to sleep after I planted it. And I mean, after I found out where it was from, I couldn't exactly stop there.

[darkova]

How many more must you fight?

[duskhound]

From what I understand, I fought the most recent wielder last night. They did mention that when they were rebuilding it they had to fight a duplicate of themselves at the end, though.

So... There should just be one more, probably? I'm not exactly sure how to prepare for fighting myself, so I might end up failing at this part, but we'll see how it goes.

[darkova]

You will not have to fight on Thursday then?

[duskhound]

That should be the case as long as I succeed tonight, yes.

It'll probably still take some time to adjust to adjust to using it too, since I'm pretty sure it operates on different principles from my Dusk Breaker.

[darkova]

Well, let me heal you at least? There's no need to walk around injured. Perhaps I can assist in preparing you for tonight as well? Having a new weapon can only help our cause, after all.

[duskhound]

All of that's fine, yeah. I'm not sure how much having a new weapon will help us when the objective is to avoid killing, though.

...Well, I'll see if I can find some non-combat ways to use it.

[He passes his hands over her, glowing with green energy as he sets to work healing her]

I am still not sure this whole thing won't end in a battle.

[duskhound]

[Yeah, magic healing's normal in her world, so she's not going to have a particularly strong reaction to the healing. She'll just let herself be healed without complaint.]

I think it coming down to a battle would end up as a problem itself, considering that we're on a reality show.

I do get what you mean, though. Having more options is never a bad thing.

If it comes to that we would not be returning to the Foundation. So, let's hope it doesn't go that far.
