Week 4
It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.
The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.
Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

It was a lie. He knew that. Inaba had told him, but—
He missed home like a constant ache, especially this week. This week, of all weeks. Atsushi wraps his arms around himself, and some might notice the tips of his fingers look too sharp. Claws.]
...That’s too cruel.
[He looks about ready to cry for a moment before he shakes his head, expression growing determined. That was the point, wasn’t it?]
The Foundation really is too cruel.

[He offers Silver a small, sad smile, looking a little bit on the strained side.]
Life would be so much easier back home.

[Atsushi droops a little. He'd started to feel safe, in Yokohama. Like he finally had a place in the world that would always accept him.
And now...]
....I miss it. But the Agency is all about protecting people, not killing them. That's my job. I can't give that up here.

No kidding. This is really shitty to dangle in front of the people that want to go back.
You going to be okay?

It's fine. He won't let those claws anywhere near Akira.]
....I... I wasn't like this, back home. I had control back home.

I don't think where you are is the deciding factor here. Though I'm guessing how the Foundation handles you hasn't helped.
But it isn't your fursona I'm worried about here. You seem pretty upset. I'm concerned for you.

Fursona...?
[He tilts his head. It's not a word he's familiar with, but... it sounded kind of like--] Are you talking about the tiger?
[That's what it sounded like. The odd use of the word has pulled him out of his headspace just a little, at the very least.]
Of course I'm going to be upset. They're lying about something so...
[...Something he wanted desperately. Freedom, having control again... All the people he missed.]
no subject
Not that the claws aren't kind of hot but that's neither here nor there.
[Akira you can't just-!]
And I'm not saying you don't have plenty of reason to be upset. I just want to make sure you get through this okay. That's what friends do, right?

We'll find another way, Atsushi. I promise.
[ it's not a guarantee, and she knows words aren't enough. there's no way that they possibly could be. but she wants to reassure him or at least try. ]
no subject
[Had to. He couldn't imagine never seeing Yokohama again. Didn't want to.]
...I know they're lying, don't worry Inaba-chan.
[He offers her a small attempt at a reassuring smile that doesn't reach his eyes. It's about all he can manage right now.]
no subject
[ because that smile does not reassure at all.
but her words are gentle and her smile is warm. ]
no subject
[Or maybe she should. This week, of all weeks... he could hurt any of them.]

[They're teammates, but they barely know each other. Still, he feels bad when anyone is hurting, no matter what. Those claws are alarming, but Leo stays calm. He trusts the person attached to them.]
You gonna be okay?
no subject
[Atsushi liked Leo, for all he'd admittedly moved out of purple room for his own (anxious) reasons. He wanted to get to know him better, but...
He hated that he had to see him like this. Threadbare control and a mess of emotions.]
I'll be okay. I know it's a lie.

[He rests a hand on Atsushi's shoulder.]
At least here you have people that're important to you, too. You're not alone.
no subject
[Atsushi had tried to believe they just wanted to help, too. Even with being locked up, and the drugs...
Until they'd let him murder a bunch of people, on purpose.]
