MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2

There was only one week left in this game, if the Witch was to be believed.

Despite the trial and it's painful conclusion, everything had been quiet over the weekend.

And those that had been lost were supposed to come back on this day. Not only that, but their natural abilities were supposed to return to them this week...🗈

And, indeed, as they wake up on Monday morning - the feeling of their old, lost abilities filters back in.

One promise kept - so will the others be kept, as well? As the prospect of the final week in the game stretches out before them, there's a sense of anticipation in the air...along with the grim knowledge that this weekend, the investigation and trial will happen again.

At least it'll be for the last time, right?

My magic has been passed onto me through my bloodline—and, before that, they were gifted to my family by one of the Six. It is a power I use to commune with the gods and... to heal the blight plaguing my star.

[ A small smile before she asks a question in return. ] And what of you? What kind of magic do they teach at your academy?

[Oh wow. He looks startled in the way one might when they realize they are in the presence of someone who outranks them several times over.]

You must be from an incredibly important family, miss. As for me... I'm just a run-of-the-mill student. They're teaching us about general magic of course, but nothing that advanced.

[ A short shake of her head. ]

Once, perhaps. However, in recent years the House of Nox Fleuret has lost much of its influence. [ The name "Oracle" still means something, just, she has no real power on her own. She thinks over what he says and, probably unsurprisingly, has a comment. ] But you needn't hear such tales, nor do you need to describe yourself so demurely. Each of us has something that makes us special—I am certain you are no exception to this.

Besides, I cannot consider someone so dedicated to their studies as to continue them in another world, "run-of-the-mill."

Ahaha, I wouldn't call myself dedicated...

[He sticks out his tongue playfully.]

I just wanted to see if I could grant Vanitas' wish on my own, since he's out of the running to get his granted by the wish. I'm definitely not this studious back home!

[accitio]

I see... [ Her eyebrows knit at hearing about Vanitas' wish. ] That is a kind gesture, and the fact that such studies are uncommon for you makes it more so. You've gone so far out of your way for him...

Have—have you found anything?

Well, so far a lot of it's theory. Healing spells, spells for binding, that sort of thing.

[He gestures to the books and the notes - everything spread out over the table.]

His specific problem is different, though, so I'm going to have to come up with something unique. I just need to know the foundation of it before I start messing with it.
