MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2

There was only one week left in this game, if the Witch was to be believed.

Despite the trial and it's painful conclusion, everything had been quiet over the weekend.

And those that had been lost were supposed to come back on this day. Not only that, but their natural abilities were supposed to return to them this week...🗈

And, indeed, as they wake up on Monday morning - the feeling of their old, lost abilities filters back in.

One promise kept - so will the others be kept, as well? As the prospect of the final week in the game stretches out before them, there's a sense of anticipation in the air...along with the grim knowledge that this weekend, the investigation and trial will happen again.

At least it'll be for the last time, right?

Oh! In the library again today, Asuma? [he stops! He's breathing hard, but not as bad as before] I'm keeping up with my exercise regime! But I'm doing it inside since it's hot outside.

Yeah, I've still got a lot to work on.

[He can't afford to make a mistake here. He doesn't have the tools or facilities to lessen the impact of his magic, so it's pretty much all or nothing.]

Even though you have your power back?

Yep! I don't want to be caught off-guard again... what if a bad guy back home finds a way to cut off my powers? I don't want to be totally helpless.

[but he can take a break. Glowing dimly in cyan, Silver levitates himself up and behind Asuma, looking over his shoulder] So, what are you workin' on?

[Oh, now he's flying. Asuma watches curiously for a moment before turning back to his work.]

Just some notes. I've never done anything this big with my magic before, so I've been doing a lot of research.

[Understatement. There's all kinds of spells copied down, even some circles, with branching notes on ways to revise the spells for better usage, tables weighing pros and cons of stopping pain versus going for healing...

And that's all just crammed on a single page.]

Oh... like, to help Vanitas? [Silver moves to the other shoulder, peeking at the notes. Nope, he doesn't understand it from this angle, either.] He said you were pretty intent on helping him. Is there anything I can do?

Right now I'm just brainstorming solutions, myself.

[Hmmm...]

What can your powers do?

Well... Nothing to do with emotions or hearts or anything... [he sighs] I can move stuff with my mind and make myself fly -- I can also make constructs, to a certain extent. If I had a real chaos emerald, maybe I could do more...
