WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[Ripley nods, leaning her head against her hand. She hasn't really talked to too many of the kids, yet...one of them will eventually get it in their heads, though.]

Fair enough. I'll trust you to keep an eye on your own stash.

[She uncorks the bottle she's been inspecting and takes a careful sniff before pouring it out into an unused glass.]

All I got in my room were extra soft blankets. Granted, they're nice, but they're not alcohol. [A pause.] They were nice enough to put a picture of my daughter, too, but...it's creepy that they had a picture of her on file.

[geckodad]

They have info they shouldn't have. They must have investigated us or somethin'.

[Akira's info, to be more precise, but he's not going to specify]

I should be glad there's no picture of my son anywhere.

[xenoqueen]

Oh, definitely. I'm just wondering how they got that information. [A pause.] The government, maybe?

[Wait. What was that?]

You have a son?

[geckodad]

Wouldn't be surprised. The government does all kinda shady shit.

[It'd explain a few things, yeah...but also doesn't feel like the best explanation. Hm...]

Yeah. Took him in after the parents died in a car crash.

[xenoqueen]

[Ripley raises an eyebrow, leaning forward.]

I'm...sorry to hear that. [A pause.] It's good that you able to be there for him. How old was he?

[geckodad]

He was just a baby back then. Now he's almost fifteen. Goin' to start high school.

[And he's such a good kid]

[xenoqueen]

[She smiles a little, resting her head on her hand. It feels nice, talking about family and kids.]

My kid's only a few years old. I was trying to negotiate my contract so I could see them after serving my time aboard the Nostromo.

[She scoffs.] ...Guess I won't be seeing them anytime soon, huh?

[geckodad]

[Ah, young kids. That sure brings memories of Kaoru's first few years...]

It's not like we're gonna stay here forever. You'll see them again.

[All you have to do is not die, and really, among everyone, Ellen seems to be one of the few well equipped to not get killed. She should be okay, as long as she's not one of the few who aren't human anymore]

[She snorts.]

You really think they'll just let us go if we get rid of all the 'mafia' lurking around?

[She does air quotes around the mafia part.]

Hell, we don't even know what to look for.

[geckodad]

Of course not. We're gonna get out of here by our own terms at some point.

[...although Iwai doubts it'll be before some deaths happen.

Still, even if they catch all the "mafia", he's sure they won't just be able to walk away. They'll force their way out, he's sure of it -- not because he's particularly optimistic, but because he intends to push to make that happen somehow, once they get a chance]
