WEEK 1 - MINGLE

WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[Well... yesterday happened. Tsumugi isn't quite sure what to do with herself but stay in her room watching anime, reading manga, and meticulously re-arranging the various merchandise in her room for most of the morning. She’ll answer if anyone knocks on her door, but otherwise she’s in her room until an idea hits her in the middle of the day.
Tsumugi can be found in the lobby asking for pencils and paper from the staff at the receptionist desk. She makes a beeline back to her room as soon as she gets what she asked for, but she’ll stop if talked to. Regardless, Tsumugi can be found an hour later in the restaurant.

She’s sitting at a table with several stacks of manga neatly arranged by genre on it. There is a piece of paper in front of her that says in neat handwriting:]

Bored? Rent a manga here! If you aren't sure what to rent, ask Shirogane Tsumugi for recommendations.

Rules for the service are as follows:

1. You must get permission from Shirogane Tsumugi before renting anything. She needs to know who took what, so she can keep track of it.

2. Take care of what you take! It's just plain rude to damage people's things!

3. Please return the manga you borrowed to Shirogane Tsumugi after a week.

4. Enjoy what you rent with all your heart!

[Tsumugi is there most of the day waiting to see if anyone wanders in and takes her up on this service. She only starts to move the remaining manga stacks back to her room after dinner. Based on how much is still left, It might take her a while on her own.]

[The entire setup has Snake’s attention, and seeing Tsumugi there, and all the effort she’s put into it, he makes his way on over. He looks over the books with the look of a father who is only at an anime convention to escort his kid, and eventually picks up one that has a vibrant front cover.]

Is this ‘anime’?

Manga.

[Tsumugi corrects him with the tone of a child correcting their parent trying to learn about their kid's interests.]

... But that's a good choice there! It might be too colorful and light hearted for your tastes though. I'd have thought you might have went for something darker like Berserk. Or have picked something like Ibara no Ou or Uzumaki... although horror might be plain gauche for this situation, huh?

[Hnnrrrghhh listen, kid, he's trying his best here. He has no idea what any of this stuff is.]

I think I've had enough of the heavy stuff.

[He leafs through the book in his hand- it seems to be about a band of girls with special powers. He's not entirely sure what's going on. One of them seems to be a cat sometimes?]

What's this about?

Ooh, I’ve been looking for something to read while I’m here! It’s all stuff I’ve never seen, too...

[It’s a little strange to have glossy covers instead of leather, but the pictures are cool looking.....]

Are there any inspiring tales of heroism in here? I’m always looking for inspiration, you know!

Of course! If you want inspiring tales about never giving up, fighting spirit, and the power of friendship, you will plain enjoy most shounen manga!

[Tsumugi taps her finger to chin in thought. It's clear she's enthusiastic about indoctrinating Cynthia into this.]

What kind of heroism are you looking to see?

[She's got a lot of suggestions in mind, but it'd be good to narrow it down.]
thejusticewagon: (WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD???)

[personal profile] thejusticewagon 2018-11-30 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh boy, that is exactly what I'm into! Hmm... well, I like happy endings even if you have to go through a lot to get there, and I tend to like main characters who aren't too grim and edgy!

Hmm....

[Tsumugi is clearly in deep contemplation about this, but after a few minutes of thinking sets out the first volumes of three manga. Tsumugi points at each one as she talks a little about it.]

Well, I think you'd love One Punch Man. It has all the super heroics you're asking for, and all with a funny atmosphere and unique takes on the genre. Then, if you want great poses and craziness, then Jojo's Bizzare Adventure is a classic. For Ninjas and a lot of friendship speeches, go for Naruto.

[Tsumugi is clearly pretty confident in her suggestions.]

Ah, those all sound pretty good... but I think I wanna start on the great poses and craziness first. That sounds like very much my jam.

Excellent choice!

[Tsumugi slides the first volume of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure over to Cynthia.]

Just make sure to read right to left, okay? That's how you read Manga.

[Just... making sure she knows.]
thejusticewagon: (...holy fishsticks batman!)

What, really?

[she flips the book over and opens it...]

Huh! How about that? And it's all pictures, too... wow, that's neat!
