WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

Snake objects to the idea of being wonderful, but being called such completely divorced from all the legends of Solid Snake was refreshing at least.]

Not really. Aside from a virus.

[Which tragically took more plot weight than the acid suppressant.]

I might have to ask you to check that out sometime.

Ooooh. What kind of virus? Have you been able to eradicate it, or are you still experiencing symptoms? I'd like to figure out how make a shot like that- ah, without the virus aspect. Of course, I'm assuming the virus is a bad one...

They called it FoxDie. It’s a retrovirus designed to kill only specific people.

[He grunts with slight discomfort.]

I’ve seen it kill others on contact. I don’t know how much time I have.

Hm. So a very bad virus, then. Tell me what you know about it- the more information I have, the better chance I have of figuring out how to cure it. [He's just immediately assuming that he not only Can cure it but that he Will]

The virus infects the macrophages in the victim's body, and contains smart enzymes that recognize the target's DNA. When they notice the specific genetic pattern the enzymes respond by becoming active and begin creating TNF epsilon. The TNF epsilon is carried through the bloodstream to attach to the heart cells.

[A brief pause. He's really not used to talking this much.]

The heart cells undergo apoptosis...they commit suicide.
