WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

Those are pretty normal things for humans to need!

Well, they are, but... Well, let's see if it helps.

No, it's fine, I should be able to get there on my own. Don't worry about me!

[But yes, she'll drag herself over to the restaurant and order...

Can we get some buttered toast, too?

[She really needs food! But better start off with something light.]

[Well, she is definitely drinking something, at least, though it definitely takes a while for her to get around to the toast, which she picks at for a while, before finally taking a bite, and...

Looking very very surprised. And then confused. And then she takes another bite, and seems less surprised, but more confused. ]

This... This is... Huh? That can't be right...

Your confusion over basic human necessities is getting to be really concerning!

[Well I mean, you did help me, so you probably deserve some explanation.]

Well, it's just... I have no sense of taste. Or that's how it's supposed to be. I can taste this just fine, though?

...Umm, why aren't you supposed to be able to taste?

[duskhound]

Well, I have something of a... special constitution back home. Part of that is that my senses are a bit messed up, and in exchange for an enhanced sense of smell, I don't have any sense of taste.

...Though come to think of it, my sense of smell has been dulled quite a bit, too... It looks like whatever brought me here, I'm... normal now?

[....On the one hand, this is a good thing, but on the other hand... What the heck happened? Something seriously weird is going on here.]

Rather than enhanced, it sounds like a tradeoff...

So you think being brought here just made you a regular human instead?

Well, it actually varies from person to person, but generally people lose one sense, and another becomes stronger. The same thing that causes that means that I don't normally need to eat either, but...

I still have my Star Brand, so I can't say I'm 100% a regular person, but at the very least, my special constitution's gone? I think I might want to talk to the Apprentice about it.

Why would you give up eating, though?!

[There's so many delicious things to consume!!]

Because I couldn't taste anything? And because sometimes people want to share food and then they notice that the food tastes nothing like what you're saying it tastes like and thinks there's something wrong with you and then hates you and it's much easier to deal with those things by just saying you've already eaten.

...That sounds like a really complicated history with food!

Well, since you can taste now, you should definitely try out different stuff. I don't know how I'd live without junkfood...

Yeah, this is a pretty rare chance, after all. I never thought I would get a chance to taste anything again.
