You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

He frowns and sets the rope down, following its path. Does it just go straight back to the tree or does it wind around a bit?]

[Science is repetition. Time for the next plan.

He resets his rope device and heads back to the staff desk. This time, he requests a small hammer and some tacks.

Then, as soon as his headache has cleared (and his hot cocoa is drained), he takes the same path out into the woods. Except this time, when he starts to feel the first inkling of a headache, of disorientation, he nails the rope to the nearest tree.]

[That works. This time, when Szayel goes back? The rope is not in his hands.]

[Excellent. He goes outside to check on his rope. How far did it unspool before he blacked out?]

[about 800 meters. Which is longer than most surveyor rope but YOU KNOW WHAT. YOU KNOW WHAT. it's magic rope.

And you know what he's going to do now? He's going to go on the other side of the Resort and do the exact same thing.

In effect, he's trying to establish a radius]

[WELL THEN. That's all good information. But all the headaches and forced unconsciousness have left him feeling quite tired, so that's enough of that for today]
