WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

I noticed that the difference in time was also weirdly close to how old the bloodstains the doctor found were.

I don't know for sure, but it feels significant enough, given how not much else makes sense.

It just adds more questions and leaves no answers.

To answer your other question... Akira-kun and I are obviously from the same place, if not entirely the same time.

[she just mimes the words 'ohhhhh boooooy.']

That sounds preeeetty complicated.

[ Like there's one thing to be from someone's past or future.

And then there's this, where you might potentially hear spoilers. ]

[the spoilers are real]

Isn't this entire situation complicated?

[she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.]

Fair, but I'm also exhausted because it's honestly a lot.

[justfists]

[her smile softens a little bit at that, to one that's more reassuring]

I promise, something like that? Is a very normal response to something like this. Though, I guess we should all be a lot more scared than we are.

[dereban]

Yeah. . .

[ Inaba does appreciate the reassuring smile, at least; relaxing her tense shoulders just a bit. ]

I don't know if I should be feeling surprised that we're not a lot more freaked out than we are?

[justfists]

I don't think so, judging by the profiles.

[she considers that, pressing a hand to her chin.]

Hmm... Which means there was likely a process in the selection...

[dereban]

Hm.

[ Inaba herself mirrors a similar expression, humming a little thoughtfully. ]

You think that there's some sort of criteria as to how everyone was chosen?

[justfists]

... I don't know. It could be coincidence.

[dereban]

I don't really believe in coincidences. Not in this particular case.

[justfists]

I still wouldn't say I believe anything yet. Not without more evidence.

[she offers a polite smile at that.]

And I do think we'll have more to discover, if we look for it.

[dereban]

Yeah, there's definitely more to discover, for sure.

[ Just pointedly looks outside the restaurant in the direction of the stairs. ]

... That sounds pretty creepy. If someone died, and then something happened to the time, or this whole place.

[It really is straight out of a horror movie script. She's starting to regret not watching more of those to get the basics, but maybe that's a good thing too. She doesn't have the genre-savvy to be too apprehensive. She just find herself longing for the soothing embrace of sci-fi dystopia.]

[justfists]

[she pauses and then shivers-- this place is... probably? not haunted? she hopes it isn't.]

It does. But we shouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet. I'm hoping there's a more... mundane explanation for it.

[It's totally haunted, Makoto. Sorry. For the moment, it's still Schroedinger's haunted, so at least there's that.]

You're right, I guess, but I'd be more surprised if there's a mundane explanation for any of this.

[She might be biased, though.]

It sounds like we're going to have to learn more about the people who died here. Somehow. But... don't you find it funny that a place with this level of -- service, that they'd just leave bodies and everything out here like this?

[justfists]

Well... truthfully, this entire situation is much stranger than even that.

[latebluemer]

Of course it is. But...

[She's not entirely sure how to explain it. It's definitely one in a series of issues with everything being out of place. But the skeleton, and everything just being here what sounds like a while later...]

It's like that lady waiting for us. Or the staff trying to be helpful, but not really. Or the blizzard.

[A little frustrated, since articulating what's out of place isn't working.]
