WEEK 1 - MINGLE

WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

Hah... I see.

[Medic tries to look nonchalant.

If Szayel takes a moment to pay attention to Medic and his souls, he'll probably notice a few things.

Namely, the fact that Medic doesn't have his original soul, and instead he has seven others surgically attached to him. Where? How? Who the fuck knows. It looks like a sloppy job, but it sure as hell works!

There's also a spot where another soul previously was stitched to, which was recently torn away.]

[Indeed, Szayel takes a closer look. How curious!]

... I didn't think humans had reached that level of soul technology.
blutsauger: (Desecrate those who rest in peace)

Hahha, well. Not. Most humans.

[he leans forward]

Tell me about your methods.
blutsauger: (I will no doubt sleep perfectly sound)

[personal profile] blutsauger 2018-11-26 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! Well, I, uh.

[Medic looks around at the other people in the area, and lowers his voice.]

Let's just say that when you have a nearly-limitless budget and a boss who's willing to let you have free reign with your experiments so long as she supervises, well. You get to try out a lot of new ideas and see what sticks.
perfeccion: (009 we're making weird science)

[personal profile] perfeccion 2018-11-26 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh ho!! [Szayel leans in more, conspiratorially] Unlimited resources and no ethical oversight... it sounds like my kind of lab. But however did you manage to contain the soul essences of others? Most humans aren't even able to see spiritual matter, let alone manipulate it.
blutsauger: (There's profit to be made)

[personal profile] blutsauger 2018-11-26 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[The implications of Szayel's words give him pause. Sure, Medic isn't exactly the most ethical or by-the-books doctor, but that's different. He knows where his limits are and what he's willing to do to get shit done.

Still, he's not gonna pass up an opportunity to brag.]

Oh, it was no trouble at all once I built a few devices- one to actually see the souls, and another to actually touch them with tangible objects.

[Don't ask him how he made them, though, because it was probably a lot of trial and error. His Medigun was a fluke]

Fascinating! For a mere human to have figured out how to interact with spirit matter... you are something else, aren't you?
