WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[She sounds a little irritated, and definitely looks windswept, and is still in her winter gear at this point. She's running a hand through her hair to smooth it, but speaking clearly.]

Look, I know we want to get organized, but here's something I've been wanting to ask. How many bodies have we found now?

Let me think- I found a lot of old blood stains, which probably correspond to the pile of bones in a bag found yesterday. Archimedes found human flesh with the rats... I don't know of any others, right now.

I heard about the skeleton. It was shot in the head and... the ribs? And I-- I also heard about the rats.

[At this point she's heard about way too many things she wishes she could unhear, and it's only been about a day and a half. Can she just do the Homer Simpson moonwalk outta here.]

If it's a skeleton, it must have been dead for a long time. Why would they just leave it here?

[Ah yes, the joy of context and frozen dinners for rodents. Wrinkling her nose at this point, ew.]

That's disgusting. It isn't just humans in this place, so why is it that we seem to be the only ones that are rat food?

[It's more of an idle complaint than anything, but seriously.]

Maybe they’re the only ones winding up as bodies.

But out of the 'players' in this game...

All of the profiles look human, right?

[What else would they be? Dogs?]

What are you trying to get at?

[I mean, there is a pig, though that isn't common knowledge yet.]

It kind of feels like we're at the bottom of the food chain.

[This is not a common feeling for A) A top-ranking duelist and B) A city girl who hasn't encountered much wildlife.]

You know what I mean! It's just worse than usual. It's not like I usually have to worry about being eaten by rats or-- or youkai or whatever.
