WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[The Staff member freezes, in the exact same way they did for other people when they asked questions. After a long time - where they look as if they're trying to determine the best course of action - they speak again.]

[ She does not understand backwards talk when spoken, even though she recognizes it. Guess she's just going to take out her phone and ask (again) using her simple voice recording app. ]

[Like, she thought the staff was weird, but this is whole new levels. Like, 'Ellen Ripley's profile needs to be looked at a second time' levels.]

Nooooo idea. Definitely not any language I've heard before.

Did you get a recording? Maybe we can analyze it.

Yeah, I did. Maybe I can try and transfer the audio file over to my laptop or something.

I was talking with someone else about finding out which of us are good at technology. It's obvious that there's a network here, and they're storing information on it. It would be a good idea to get a group of us together.

[They might not be able to hack this, in the end, given just how good their hosts have to be to get the kind of information they're spreading freely -- but it's a start.]

Oh. Let's see...

[If there's one thing the profiles are good for? It's introducing people. She quickly pulls up the right profile with the ease of long practice.]

Her. Katherine. She told me she only has base skills.

Oh, I see... yeah, my skills aren't like, amazing? Like I'm not a hacker or anything. But they're good enough for simple things like this, at least.

I... learned some things from my brother. Some hacking, some programming.

[There's something in her voice that softens, for the briefest moments, when she mentions that, but then she's off again.]

I'm not that good yet, but I also still have my duel AI. There might be something I can do. But it'll be a lot easier with more people.

[She doesn't say 'team', because she ain't good at teams, y'all. But still.]

[ Inaba finds the way that she says it a little interesting, but she won't pry. ]

Yeah, it definitely will. I'll probably ask around to see if anyone else can help.

[ She's not a team person either, but she's willing to cooperate with others, at least. ]
