WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

...fine, I walked right into that one. [He mumbles, disappointed with himself. Wow.

A couple days...that isn't as bad as he expected. It's kind of a relief]

Guess we know where to put away anything we need to hide.

[Iwai, Snake isn't some kind of chest you can cram stuff into. But yeah, he's trying to float the idea, see if Snake would be okay with that]

Got anything that needs hiding?

Not right now.

[Implying he may need in the future. Looks like the change of scenery instead of being in his airsoft shop didn't make Iwai any less shady]

What kind of requests should I be expecting?

[geckodad]

To hide evidence. Anythin' the staff shouldn't find out we have. There's nothin' like that yet, but I figure it's matter of time before something's found.

[Iwai sure is working to find out stuff, so he thinks it's possible he'll find something]

That's not a bad idea. Feels like there's a lot they'll be wanting to hide here.

[Like, say, the human hand from the freezer. Except that was beyond his boundaries for things to smuggle in his stomach.

Of course they do. Right now it's all about pushing their limits and tryin' to find weak points. Once that's done, it'll be time to attack and hit them where it hurts.

[If it's any consolation, Iwai sure would never ask anyone to eat a frozen hand, goodness! He has standards]

[Snake takes a drag of his cigarette and gives the other man a look-over.]

Iwai, right? You been in this kind of situation before?

Not really. It's more like I have a few shady connections. Learned a thing or two from 'em.

[More like he knows from experience. He knows how things are like in the criminal underworld, but he never got too deep into it -- more than being a former yakuza thug and later being a confidant to a Phantom Thief would let him, that is]

Shady? In what way?

You know. [He shrugs] An useful contact here and there. For info.

[At least Iwai is able to lie without any trouble]

The police don't like me much, knowin' that kinda people's necessary if I want not to be bothered by 'em all the time.

The police, huh?

[Well, Snake has his fair share of dirt that puts him at the mercy of anyone looking to blackmail him.]

What'd you do to piss them off?

[geckodad]

I have an airsoft shop. Lots of models and fake weaponry. The country's pretty tough on firearms and that kinda shit, of course the cops visit every once in a while to make sure I'm not sellin' real guns all of a sudden.

[It's an excuse he made long ago, figuring it's plausible enough. People in general wouldn't be happy to hear he makes models by request that are waaaay more realistic than they should be. Yup]

It's a real hassle to have cops comin' and goin' from the store. Gives a bad image -- better to know ahead of time when they're comin'.

[Snake makes a hnrnrhghh, and shakes his head.]

They don't have anything better to do?

[geckodad]

Clearly not -- but that's police for you. After a few years you just learn how to deal with 'em.
