WEEK 1 - MINGLE

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.
The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?
So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?
In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

I'm not sure you understand just how plain I am. I can give plenty of examples of my plainness that will make you think "Oh man, she's so plain!"... but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, right?
[A shrug. Plain really isn't the best catchphrase, but does she really want to get rid of it? Some part of her likes the idea.]
Maybe... I'll see what you see one day though?

[Mock-serious, a little bit serious, a little bit curious -- most people don't come with powerpoint presentations for their self-deprecation, and she usually doesn't have the patience for them anyway. Life is short, the list of duels she needs to find is long, and for the most part she's rarely interested in people unless she's shoved together with them.
So here they all are -- and maybe she'll see something new too. Who knows?]
Come to think of it, though, since we've been talking about it so much -- what is plainness, anyway? Especially here.
no subject
[She doesn't really have anything else to do besides socialize and binge manga, anime, and games all day. It honestly does sound like a good distraction.]
Umm... I guess plainness here is like... being a boring normal human.
[Although, as Appy said, that doesn't apply to any of them anymore.]
no subject
[Kind of an unreasonable and overall unrealistic request in its own way. But it's not a completely serious challenge, either. So she's just throwing that one out there. The real question is how exactly they're going to leave the resort...... anyway.]
You know, I get the feeling being a boring normal human would be more unique here.
no subject
[She can be a fair sport this time. She's not planning on loosing, but it's a good distraction.]
Yeah, I guess it would be. We'll need another definition for plainness here then...
no subject
[They at least know it's winter, even if the day is all kinds of clusterfuck. She hasn't thought yet about Christmas because thinking about holidays without family is a bit unnecessary right now. Making it a different sort of occasion... is a good distraction too.]
Maybe somebody plain here is just... someone who can accept this place?
[Probably not entirely right. Because that would just be the staff. Ew.]
no subject
[It's strange to think about celebrating it here.]
Alright. The date for our duel is then, so prepare for it. I don't plan on going down easy.
[Tsumugi's face scrunches up at that description.]
Umm... the Staff is anything but plain. It's more... the kind of person you'd pass by on the street without another thought. Another face in the crowd, y'know?
no subject
Challenging me to a duel is pretty gutsy. I'm looking forward to it!
[Considering what she and Nanashi are talking about in this very sleepover, it might in fact turn into some kind of symbolic card duel. Who knows. Old habits die hard. Anyway, she's looking pretty cheerful about it, as silly as it is.
There's a beat as she thinks about their changing definition here, and then:]
But there's no streets here. We can't use that sort of standard at all.
[Unfortunately, a lot of the suggestions that she can think of to give are just kind of morbid given the situation they're in. Hm.]
... People whose profile wouldn't make you think twice?
no subject
[A quiet laugh at that description of her.]
Oh, same. I'll be sure to prepare for it.
[There is a thoughtful hum.]
Hmm... yeah, I think that works. There's a lot of people here with wild profiles, but mine's rather plain in comparison.
[Thankfully.]
no subject
[Which is why she was kind of against making too much use of the profiles in the first place. On the other hand, for more lighthearted purposes, she's pretty game. She's not really going to pry here, even if she's definitely testing the waters to see Tsumugi's thoughts and how far she's willing to talk.]
no subject
[She doesn't think their social link is high enough for some parts.]
no subject
[Since Tsumugi is willing to talk about it to some extent, she's going to be frank.]
There were a lot of names, and then something about not cosplaying real people? And something about hair. But it's your profile, so you can choose what you want to talk about.
[She was really just making the point that most of the profiles were either odd or intriguing, especially to someone more observant. There's only a mild curiosity in her inquiries.]
NDRV3 Spoilers
Those people are the ones responsible for my dream job becoming a nightmare... but umm... I guess it doesn't really matter now. There's no one still interested in it after they ruined it.
[She's still extremely bitter about it to be honest. Even if she did accept it at the end, she also didn't expect to wake up and have to move on.]
Umm.. and cosplaying real people triggers my Cospox. It's plain gross.
[As for her hair...]
Well... it's common knowledge that long hair takes more care to maintain than short hair, right? I think they needed to buy more hair care supplies than usual for me.
[There's a lot of hair. They probably needed to buy extra shampoo and conditioner for her.]
no subject
It must have been something pretty big, if it could ruin the job for you and... everyone else.
[Probably, you could only manage that by shutting down or messing up a place, changing the requirements of the job altogether... all kinds of things. She prods a little, to see if anything else will be said, but otherwise--]
Never heard of Cospox, but I really haven't done much cosplaying. Unless you count... cosplaying as my avatar. I'm having enough trouble with the hair on it, too-- [she fingers her pigtails a little awkwardly] --I have no idea how you're dealing with all of yours.
Major NDRV3 Spoilers
It was big enough to make an entire fan base want a massively popular show on it's 53rd season to end... and succeed in making it end.
[There are many regrets being had, but what's over is over. There's no point in talking about it really. That won't bring it back.]
Oh, umm... it's not that common. I'm just unlucky.
[Tsumugi runs a hand through her own hair affectionately.]
Well... it's nothing special. I'm just spending a plain long time everyday on hair care.
no subject
[--is really all she can say to that. Something on the scale that Tsumugi's illustrating, even if Blue Angel's still mostly in the dark about the details, must have had a lot of influence and glory wrapped up in it. She's a performer and a showrunner in her own right, and she still doesn't know what it would be like to be in the middle of that.
There's a little pause, while she lets all that settle.]
Maybe I should be asking you for tips, at this rate. It's been so long since I've had this much hair.
[Maybe not ever, actually.]
no subject
[She's honestly not sure what to do now that it's over, since it was such a large part of her. But there's no need to share that information. A giggle is gotten out of Tsumugi at what Blue Angel says next though.]
Well, I'm plain happy to help if you have any questions.
no subject
She's not sure, but it's something she'll remember, tucked with all the other things she's coming to understand about Tsumugi and their group.]
Well, are you using the hotel product, or do you have something of your own you're having them get? I haven't paid as much attention to that since I cut my hair shorter, but now...
[Now it's a teensy bit more important.]
no subject
[A hum as Tsumugi puts thought into this. What tips can she give...]
The real trick is making sure to use some conditioner, but not too much of it. 'Cuz if you put too much in, it'll just make your hair look oily when it's not all washed out.
[Let's see... any more tips off the top of her head...]
Umm... and don't brush it when it's wet. That's just plain asking for breakage!
