WEEK 1 - MINGLE

WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

justonezero: (everybody's here)

[Yoshi has a rabbit kigurumi of his own, and can be found cozy on the bed for the most part. He'll send the Tetris app to anyone who asks and duke it out over battle mode, but beware- he's a fast and skilled player!]

What should I make next? Maybe BitPuyo?
13thpromise: (In your)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-11-28 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Roxas would definitely not be skilled in playing Tetris since he hasn't even played it ever. ]

What's BitPuyo?
justonezero: (Even so)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-28 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It's another puzzle game! Kind of like tetris, but instead you just get two blocks in different colors. You try to line them up in groups of four, and the pieces always fall as far down as they can, so you have to be careful how you arrange them!

Maybe I'll get it running in the next couple days. I can show you then!
13thpromise: (On that day)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-11-28 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He'll just nod, but: ]

I've never played Tetris before either.

justonezero: (the world is turning still)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-29 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
You can try it now if you want!

[He'll even send it to Roxas' tablet, if he accepts it!]
13thpromise: (I know well)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-11-29 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ He'll accept it!

And then stare at it before getting it open. ]

Wait, how do I play this thing again?
justonezero: (care about me)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-29 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Just tap the screen! It'll give you a tutorial.

We can play together once you're done!

[And indeed, there's a well-made tutorial that will walk him through the controls and overall goal of the game.]
13thpromise: (Tell me)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-11-29 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright.

[ Roxas manages to get through the tutorial with ease, making sure to pay attention. ]

I'm ready now, let's do this! And prepare to get your butt kicked.
justonezero: (and nobody gives a)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-30 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Bring it on!

[He starts it up! ...And begins immediately slotting blocks as quickly as he can with one clean row for an eventual tetris.]
13thpromise: (The goddess of imaginary light)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-12-01 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
[ Roxas tries his best, but in reality, this is his first game.

So... he loses pretty quickly. ]

...Three out of five! Let's go again.
justonezero: (care about me)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-12-02 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, Yoshi is Powerful at this game. Definitely too powerful for beginners.]

Okay!

[LET'S SLAM he. Isn't holding back at all this time, either...]
13thpromise: (It's cold)

[personal profile] 13thpromise 2018-12-02 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
[ Suffice to say, Roxas is going to be trying his best again and again...

Then pouting when he subsequently loses every match. ]

...One day I'm going to beat you at this game, just you wait.

[ Ultimate sulking-mode. ]
justonezero: (the world is turning still)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-12-02 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Someone really needs to teach Yoshi how to teach others to play.]

There's a solo mode, too! You can use that one to practice and increase your skills!

latebluemer: (えっ)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-28 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[OK, but if he's a bunny boy dressed in a rabbit kigurumi does that mean he has four bunny ears because that's just ridiculous, and Blue Angel is going to come over and flick a little at those kigurumi ears since she can't flick the holographic ones!]

What's with you and rabbits? And what's BitPuyo?

[She probably nabbed the Tetris app at some point, though she hasn't gotten around to gaming all that much till now.]
justonezero: (Each time I realize)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-28 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I just like them, that's all!

[Also rabbits die of loneliness. Foreshadowing.]

BitPuyo's another game, kind of like tetris! Two connected blobs fall from the top, so you have to group up at least four of the same color to pop 'em! But since they're just sticky, if there's space under them, they'll separate from the one they were connected to and fall as far as it can go like plop!!
latebluemer: (あら)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-28 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess it is a pretty good theme to have.

[She is not here for foreshadowing or death, so she's totally taking that at face value and focusing on the gaming aspect of things.]

It sounds a little like you're playing with mochi when you put it like that... [it's hard to imagine without a visual!] Right, you're a programmer, so you can make a lot of different kinds of games... How complicated can they be?
justonezero: (that's how I)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-28 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? Well, I haven't tried anything too hard, but if you tell me what you want I can give it a try.

[Tetris and BitPuyo are easy.]
latebluemer: (えっ)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-28 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Duel Monsters is probably too complicated to program in full, but I can help you out for a more basic version. There's rules, and basic setups and references, and records of past duels on my duel disk.

[She sounds thoughtful as she starts going through the functionality on her wrist gadget. There's a quick glow and then she starts pulling cards out of it like some kind of magician. The joy of holographic gaming and all.]

The biggest problem would be building decks and monsters, but I have a lot of records. What do you think?
justonezero: (secluded and)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-29 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Peering at the gadget and getting some info read. Hm!]

If I can extract the info from it, I can use that as assets for the app. Then I just need to code in the rules and make sure it's functional.
latebluemer: (いいでしょう)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-29 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, right, he is literally some kind of human computer-something-or-other. She lifts her wrist so he can read better, who knows if that helps.]

I can give you a basic rundown of the rules in a way that's easy to understand. And I've seen some of the inner workings of Link VRAINS. If we both work on it, hopefully it won't be too hard.

[She's just subtly sparkling right now, okay?]
justonezero: (Someday I'll just)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-29 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It might take a few days, but I think we can do it!

[Heck yes something new to work on!!]
latebluemer: (カムバーク ♥)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-29 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
If we can put this together, maybe I'll show you how to play it on the D-board, too.

[Are you a bad enough badass to play card games on hoverboards.]
justonezero: (care about me)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-11-30 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to fail at all physical sports, but I don't mind learning how to play!

[He is not. At all.]
latebluemer: (いいでしょう)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-11-30 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well... duels did start out being played on the ground, like normal card games.

[They've never been normal card games, but that's Yu-Gi-Oh! verse for you.]

We can start with that. I need at least a little practice to stay in form.
justonezero: (Someday I'll just)

[personal profile] justonezero 2018-12-01 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'll do my best not to be mercilessly crushed!
