WEEK 1 - MINGLE

WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[He's pretty decent at sensing presences, so unless Gerome's actively hiding himself, he'll probably pick up on Batman just lurking around in the distance. As it is, since it doesn't look like he's coming closer, Rean just continues for about another 15 minutes before he stops to take a break, turning to wherever Gerome is.]

Hey. Did you need something?

[ He had no intention of hiding himself so that's okay. ]

No. [ He's prepared to leave it at that—until he realizes he should probably say a little more. ] I was watching the way you handle your sword. Your technique is... different than the ones I've seen before. I don't recognize the style.

Considering it seems like we're all from different worlds, that's no surprise.

[He raises the sword to about chest level, giving a clear view of the craftsmanship.]

It's called the Eight Leaves One Blade style. It's something my Master came up with by combining a number of different elements from other Eastern schools of swordsmanship. But like the name implies, there's eight forms associated with it, each containing their own techniques.

I've heard of styles like this before. There's an elegance to them—elegance my own self-taught style lacks. [ ... ] If it isn't asking too much, I'd like to continue watching you train. I suspect I have much to learn from your forms.
