WEEK 1 - MINGLE

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.
The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?
So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?
In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?
MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

What's wrong, kid? [Said in a dry tone.] Never had bolognese before?

[He glances at the meal, then back to her, trying to reign in his excitement even a little. It's... probably not the best idea for him to tell him how he recognizes her, at least.]
It's nice of you. Uh, that's all. You sure you don't want it?
no subject
[He seems kind of nervous, for some reason. Huh. She tries to think back on the guests listed in the tablet, and she remembers that odd entry....]
You're Hunter, right? What's your take on this whole situation?
no subject
[It takes effort to make it sound conversational, as though he's recalling her name from something he read on the tablet. He reaches out to slide the plate his way without further complaint, but there's another surprised glance at her once she asks that question.]
My take? Like... Whether I think anyone is going to go for the murder thing, or what the staff is after, or...?
no subject
[Wow. It feels weird having someone use her first name when all of her crewmates just referred to her as 'Ripley', but she doesn't mind it. She leans her head against her hand in a casual manner, taking another sip of coffee.]
Both, I guess. [She sighs.] It...just seems like some people aren't particularly concerned about the gravity of the situation. I'm assuming you saw what the Apprentice said the other day? I mean, I'm not even sure if we can trust them, but they've definitely given us more than what the Staff have been willing to divulge.
no subject
[Whether he didn't get a chance or whether he assumed everyone else would think of better questions than he could is unclear. Still...]
...I wish there was something more we could do, I guess. That's my take.
no subject
You and me both, kid.
[Escape or rescue of any kind doesn't seem particularly viable, what with the conditions surrounding the resort and whatever measures the Staff have put in place.]
Do you know if anyone has tried to get a message out, yet?
no subject
No. I mean, no, I don't know if anybody's tried. Not no, nobody's tried yet.
[And then there's a brief pause, considering.]
How would we even do that?
no subject
[Think, Ripley!! You got a degree in engineering for a reason!!!]
...My next option would be to try and take apart whatever tech they've got on hand, see if I can jury rig something together to send out an SOS or something.

[...]
If your ideas don't work, I mean. Your ideas are better.
no subject
[Man, this kid needs some more confidence in himself.]
The only problem that might pop up is the Staff trying to get rid of our efforts....
no subject
Yeah, that's true. But maybe someone would have time to see it before they did. [...] I don't know how to make a flare, though.
no subject
Well, I'm sure that if we asked the Staff for a bunch of materials that may or may not be used to make a flare, we'll certainly be provided with them. That is, if we were to make a flare, hypothetically.
[The question is whether the Staff would catch on and try and foil their plot....]
no subject
And hypothetically... It'd depend on whether anyone who saw it could actually get here, right?
no subject
Unfortunately. If the weather gets worse and it starts snowing...we may have to look into trying to escape for ourselves.
[She glances over to Hunter.] How's the pasta?
no subject
Better than cafeteria for sure. Thanks again.
no subject
[Cafeteria. So that means...]
You must be happy about missing school, then. What grade are you in?
no subject
You have no idea.
[Anyways!]
11th grade.
no subject
Not sure if your teachers would allow "kidnapped and trapped at a weird ski resort" as an excuse for absence.
no subject
[It sounds a little bit flat, but he moves on quickly enough.]
They'll be pissed. I'm sure that right now, they're freaking out that one of us got out.
no subject
'Got out?' [She repeats Hunter's words slowly, raising an eyebrow.] What do you mean by that?
no subject
It wasn’t really a normal school. We weren’t allowed to leave the campus.
no subject
[Even people at boarding schools are allowed to leave. That's odd.]
no subject
No, it was. But... It wasn’t really a normal boarding school, either. The teachers and faculty are kind of - intense, to put it lightly.

You should take the opportunity to rest, relax a little while you can. And if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me, alright?
