WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

Just... be careful you don't hurt each other by accident. I doubt we have the equipment here to deal with anything too serious.

[Okay yeah this is... definitely one way of talking about injuries...]

'Cure'? ...Is that some kind of special technique?

I guess it is special. It's magic that can heal you! I can show you, but you'll have to get hurt first.

Yeeeeah, I think we'll hold off that demonstration for a later time. [It's not like he likes getting needlessly injured?!]

But you called it magic, right? So you don't need an orbment or anything to cast it?

[whirlingmace]

[ Aww :(

But she's perking up at the next part! ]

Yeah, we can use it without the Crystal even! Mother made us special. [ A pause. ]

What's an orbment?

[There's something about her wording that gets him, but... he'll come back to that in a second.]

An orbment's... well actually, it'd be easier just to show you. [He takes out his ARCUS from his pocket, opening the cover and displaying the gem-like quartz inserted in the slots.]

We use it to cast different Arts, so that includes things like healing, fireballs... you name it. Anyone can use one as long as it's synchronized to them, but using magic without it is pretty unusual.

Whoa! [ She doesn't know if it's dangerous but she's already going to try to poke the gem. ]

Usually people have to rely on the Crystal to get magic!

[ But again, Mother made them special. ]

I can use the basic stuff, too! Want to see?

[It's not dangerous at all, so poke away, Cinque. There's a number of them in different colours but the largest one in the center is a deep red, with an insignia evocative of a flame.]

So the Crystal's like everyone's source of power?

[Or something? Although wait, demonstrations--]

Uh, that depends. It's... not going to be dangerous to use in here, will it?

[ Oooh that's pretty! Can she pick it up? ]

Yup! That's where magic comes from.

[ But her group is different. :)

Though she has to consider it for a moment. ]

Hehe. It could be! [ And then she'll step back and her hand will glow. ONE WAY TO FIND OUT ]

[It's kind of wedged in there, but she could probably remove it with a little effort; it's meant to be switched out when needed anyways.

Although, his expression gets a little panicked when he sees her hand glow. This seems like a bad idea??]

O-okay, wait a second here! How about we do this outside instead? ...Please?

[ WOW no one will let her test things indoors? The glowing stops and she kind of laughs. ]

Oh... haha whoops. We shouldn't do that in here or that Staff will be upset, riiiight?

[ She'll grab his arm to start pulling him away from the party. Let's go \o/ ]

[Only because we love and care about you Cinque!! He lets himself get dragged along though.]

Y-yeah. I don't exactly want to find out what kind of consequences they have in store for us if things start going up in flames or something.
