MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

You really like flowers, huh?

[ It's a little odd, but it makes him happy, right? ]

Mm-hm! They're nice, and they make great gifts for people. It's too bad, though... once you've plucked them to give as a gift, they don't last very long.

[That part's a shame for sure.

Asuma makes his way down the rest of the docks now, sitting down near Jack with the flowers laid over his lap.]

Just enjoying the night air?

You can't just replant them or something?

[ How do plants work? Jack doesn't know.

At the question though, he'll glance at where the shard of crystal is. ]

Something like that. Thought I'd try talking to a friend.

I could, but they'd take a while to grow back. It's a lot of work, too.

[Such is the way of things. He follows Jack's gaze to the crystal in his hands.]

...Are you able to use that to communicate with people?

[Some kind of magic, he presumes.]

How do they even do that? Grow and stuff?

[ Whatever it is that flowers do and why they do what they do. He has no idea. ]

Haha. It's not one of those. I do have that though.

[ He just hasn't been wearing the COMM. ]

This actually came off of a friend of mine. She sure was- is amazing.

You don't know how plants grow? And... "came off?"

Didn't really have time to learn about that.

[ Or... learn about things that weren't magic and fighting. ]

Oh yeah. I forget things are different for everyone else, huh? A friend of mine was encased in crystal. A little piece of it fell off containing her last thoughts.

Hey, none of that. It's fine, see? It'll mean she can wake up again in a better future.

Wake up...?

So it's just a temporary thing?

Yeah. We don't know when they'll wake up... but they wake up some day. Haha.

[ He just... won't be there for it. ]

Must be nice though. Napping for a really long time.

I think I'd like to be active as much as I can...

[Does he mean now? Does he mean in general? A mystery.

[ There's a moment where he wants to admit it. Then he shakes his head, that smile on his face. ]

Who me? Pshaw. There's lots I still want to do, you know?

It's kind of late for it, though.

[ That has another meaning for Jack, but he knows there's no way Asuma would know that. Looking at the crystal. ]

I don't know. I feel like staying up for as long as possible.

That is pretty soon, isn't it...

Something like that. We'll find out soon enough, right?

[ By finding Riku's body tomorrow. It's okay. This is fine. ]

[He kicks his legs idly, one hand still over the bouquet so it doesn't fall.]

I wonder if we should go to bed so we can get it over with sooner, or draw things out by staying up...
