MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?
....But maybe all of this...
...Is just the calm before the storm.

Sort of. I think there's probably only two... one and a half like it?
...It's not a very pleasant one, though.

"The End of the World"? Is it really about that?!
no subject
Not the end of the world. But... probably the end of a certain country.
Mine, that is.
[He doesn't seem too distressed, at least. Just... melancholy?]
To be honest, I don't think many people read it at all. It's basically just conspiracy theories, so most people who did probably just dismissed them as crazy.
[Most.]

...Well, I'm not too worried about the end of my country, at least.
[It's the other mess the book caused, the much more personal one.]
We'll be fine, I'm sure. Nothing will change for the country at large.

[Ahaha...]
But I don't think they'll hurt the country itself.

[Thank you, topic change.]

[He's not one to really concern himself much with books and barely legal copies, so this is new territory for him!]
Who do they look like? As you know them, I mean.

[He does look at this all curiously enough.]
That's odd. I wonder... if there are books like that for all of us...?
It seems like something the witch might do for fun.

[Aaaaand time to go search! He looks for more storybook ones, and indeed, there's a few about witches and so on. One displays a little girl with a squirrel on her shoulder, a number of people behind her along with a school.
He doesn't recognize any of the faces, honestly. But the construction of the building gives him a pause.]
...Huh.
no subject
Oh, did you find something?
no subject
[He stares at the cover, eyebrows raising.]
The building in the background looks like one of the academies... But I have no idea who the people are.

[That... definitely never would have occurred to him.]

[He runs a hand over the cover before opening it up and flipping through curiously. It's a very sad tale, about a little girl who ends up pressed into the job of a teacher at a magical academy after the apparent passing of her own magic teacher, who is trapped in the body of the squirrel.
His eyebrow raises very slightly as he gets to the headmaster of the school. Hm.]
...Some of the names do seem similar.
