MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?
....But maybe all of this...
...Is just the calm before the storm.

And she's pretty observant in the first place. Robot, you know.
So once he stops to take a break she also stops what she's doing (there's a book she's carrying, which looks suspiciously like a volume of (offbrand?) Harry Potter) and appraises the current state of the powerwalking.]
It does seem to be summer here. Others have been doing their exercises earlier in the morning or in the ocean.

He's sitting down on the pathway and he takes a sip of water... the unfurred portion of his face is pretty sweaty, and the luxurious poof around his neck is looking pretty limp. But he's still smiling!]
... Eh? [until she mentions the morning....] You mean people get up early to do this stuff?! Ughhhhh..... [he slumps] Exercise is hard...
no subject
It does seem to be hard.
[Says the robot who's never really had to exercise a day in her life.
That's probably another thing the humans used to complain about back home, huh.]
But as far as I've been able to tell, those who exercise and stay in shape tend to be early risers. It's been some time since I've seen such a marathon, though.

[he huffs and lies down completely on his back, covering his eyes to block the sun's rays]
You're lucky, you know? You don't have to worry about exercise, do you?
no subject
[Even a marathon with breaks is still a marathon!
She doesn't really have an investment either way, but she is pretty sure people usually block off their time more efficiently when they head out to exercise. Maybe things are different for this guy?]
But many humans tell us that, too. We are built not to tire. There are other things that can slow down a robot.
no subject
[derp. He sits up again]
Huh? Like what? [he's smashed up plenty of robots, but he's pretty sure that counts more as "killing" and not "slowing down"]
no subject
[She is pretty sure organic beings don't improve quite that fast.
It's not always a measurable or quantifiable thing, after all. She is pretty sure he is just slowing down at this point.]
Age, in the earlier robots. The Ruin, in the unlucky ones. The humans in my homeland may be the lucky ones.
no subject
[that would be great but also pretty much impossible. He knows enough about exercise for that, at least]
[??] What's "the Ruin"?
no subject
[They're totally changing!
... They're charging up with lactic acid! Enjoy the results later.
There's a brief shadow that sweeps across Luna's expression, but it only lingers in a bit of flatness behind her voice as she goes on.]
The Ruin is death to a robot. It's the breakdown of everything that they are; the plague upon the world.
no subject
[he definitely notices the change in her face]
That's awful... so... it's like a disease that only robots get?
no subject
[She stares down at her hand a moment, curling and uncurling the fingers.
The motion is fluid and careful. There is still a bit of bandaging there, trailing gently.]
