MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

[raenef will be hanging around inside the mansion for today or more specifically you can find him lingering outside his room definitely seeming a bit preoccupied with something.

there are a few markers and scraps of paper lying around that you might notice he is focused drawing on or if you happen to pass by later you will notice he is trying to tape something onto his name plaque of his door (which may or may not be spelled right... ) that reads: THE MAGNIFICENT GREAT DEMON LORD RAENEF! it is a very important addition that he looks pretty proud of]

[oh hey vanitas.

raenef turns noticing him approaching and he is a bit surprised by hearing him laugh]

Hm? What's so funny? [because it can't possibly be him]

That- [ gesturing at the thing he's trying to tape ] -is a pretty hilarious joke.

[ Just cocking his head to the side, one hand on a hip. He's smirking pretty big now. ]

I'm more "demon lord" [ air quotes included ] material than you.

Hey! It's not a joke. [okay, honestly he knows he might not be cut out for this and still needs to work on being more Demon Lord but damn it he will try his best especially because he doesn't want to disappoint eclipse either.

[ His eyebrows lift a little as he studies Raenef for a moment. ]

[ Wow, Vanitas, how Mature(tm) of you. This line totally worked last time you used it, right? ]

Why do you care what a bunch of strangers see you as? Although... [ small smirk ] I'd think a real Demon Lord wouldn't have a problem getting respect without just demanding it like some little kid.

[wow vanitas?? that is so rude. raenef looks mildly offended for a moment before giving a slight shrug]

I was just trying to get my name plaque to reflect my proper title since I am a Demon Lord just like my predecessors. [it has nothing to do with caring what people think so there!! and well also trying to follow what he does actually remember of his lessons so that somewhere out there eclipse doesn't get mad at him again!] It just goes to show you don't know a thing about being a real Demon Lord.

[Bruno just stares at the name plate in concern.]

... Raenef? What is this "demon lord" thing about?

Oh— that's what I am. A Demon Lord!

[Now he's staring at Raenef in concern.]

As in you command demons?

[Sorry, but from what Asuna told him Demons are bad news. Thank god for power blocks, huh?]

[... Well, that's a question Bruno didn't expect.]

Sir, we're being held on an island by a witch and her "goat" butlers, and among us are a boy studying magic, someone who can usually sense this thing called ether in various things, and a strange looking yurble. Why would anyone not believe you if you're being honest?

Well you would think that but that's surprisingly not the case with most reactions I've gotten so far.

[Luna is passing by on one of her rare forays into her room or anywhere near the rooms in general; as always, she's got a flower or two with her and seemingly a book about magic and summoning (is it Harry Potter this time? no one knows).

For the moment, though, she's just slowed and is staring at Raenef's handiwork in mild confusion.]

Is it normal for someone to advertise themselves this way? Or... are you starting something with the witch?

[That's the only reason she could think of to flaunt something so bizarre. Raenef at least seemed to be fully in possession of his faculties earlier...]

[raenef looks a bit confused by her words before it registers with him that she is talking about his brand new sign near his name plaque!] I'm not trying to start anything— I just wanted the name plaque to reflect my proper title!

A lot of people seem to be having issues with their names...

[There's the one lady who ran off with hers entirely and then Jack is probably still carrying his around like a particularly unfortunate bit of contraband -- then there's this guy. She has to wonder if the witch did all this on purpose or if they just have a merry band with a lot of naming issues.

She's only ever had the one name and a slew of titles, so hm.]

Is your title important for the game?

For the game? Probably not but I wanted to have it up there anyway.

It seems to be an impressive title.

[And completely unbefitting the blond at hand, but she doesn't bother to say that part.

Also, is it written in Comic Sans. This is very important.]

It is and I have to live up to. I'm still learning though.

[at this point raenef wouldn't be too surprised if she said that aloud but it is definitely not written in comic sans. what is that?? raenef doesn't even know. ]

[ lunafreya is passing by when she catches sight of something taped to raenef's plaque. that's... curious, and if it's an addition to his nameplate it might be best if she takes a look. ]

The Magnificent Great Demon Lord Raenef... It is a bold title, yet one I'm sure is well-earned. There must be a wonderful story behind such a name.

[raenef was mostly expecting people to not believe him since that was the usual response he got back home so hearing someone who didn't question him on it was refreshing and he can't help but smile at that.

technically he knows he is not quite cut out to be a demon lord but he knows through his demon lord lessons he is supposed to boldly proclaim his title to people with pride so he is trying his best!! and he is glad that someone else seems to think it is well earned? and seems to believe him] Yeah, I like to think so too. At least it's one I hope I'll live up to.

Ah— yeah, it was the same as my predecessors.
