All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

[While Vanitas is swatting at one hand he brings up the other, knocking the side of his fist against the helmet on the other side. Not hard enough to be a punch- more like bonging a bell]

Dunno. Sounds like something's in there.

[ He'll be swatting at that hand, too, even if there's the hint of amusement in his tone. ]

If you wanna know so badly... [ suddenly leaping back, landing with grace ] ... try removing it.

Oh, we're doing this? Can't say I'm surprised.

[Vanitas just gives off the feeling of someone that needs to have his head knocked around a little. Takashi kinda expected this, just not right away.

He thinks of Taddy challenging him back then and feels a stir of nostalgia. Ah, he was getting soft in his old age]

Don't say I didn't give you a chance later~

[He slips into what could be called a stance as well, tugging at the cuffs of his jacket before loosely balling up his fists and watching Vanitas, his entire air changing and growing heavy-

-before moving with nearly no warning and aiming to kick Vanitas right in the gut. ]

Wasn't planning on it.

[ He's been training his butt off against the Master, and that old man has plenty of tricks up his sleeve. Once that prepared him for a moment like this.

The kick is going to be getting blocked with his forearm - which, ow, admittedly. Not having the power of Darkness to remotely help kind of... sucks? Not that he's going to be reacting much beyond trying to jump back a little, in an effort to lessen the impact. ]

Not bad... for an old man.

[Not bad at all. But if Vanitas was expecting banter he's not getting it- he has a point to prove, so he has to take Vanitas seriously if he's going to get anywhere with the kid.

He smirks and darts in again... just a little similar to the feint he tried to pull on Lambdadelta. Let's see if Vanitas was paying attention yesterday]

[ He was paying attention! ... But, being so used to having Darkness boosting his stats, he just barely misses the mark in stopping it in time. Whoops. ]

[And Takashi drops low for a sweep- Vanitas is starting to slow just a bit, so he intends to keep up the pressure]

[ He manages to jump up in time to avoid that, but he lands just a liiiiittle bit sloppier than he normally would. ]

[ a little sloppy is still sloppy- but the kids has some good training, so Takashi doesn't move to take advantage right away.

Instead he shows why he was only using his legs- hidden in one palm was a jagged chunk of beach shell. And with a skilled flick from his crouching position he sends it flying towards Vanitas' face. He has a helmet, it's fiiiine]

[ Having a helmet does make it fine, for the most part! He's moving on instinct, jerking his head to the side in an attempt to avoid it.

And, in that same moment he's blocking, he's going to swoop down and try for a low kick; let's see how he likes it! ]

[Very nice- Takashi jumps out of the way, unable to counter... but he does seem to be slowly maneuvering himself behind Vanitas]

[ It takes him just a little longer than it normally would for him to move back upright, but he's definitely jumping to his feet as quickly as he can. And, rather than outright turning towards Takashi, he decides to just try punching him from the current angle. ]

[That slightly less than optimal angle was just what he was hoping for- and instead of avoiding the punch or blocking it, he steps towards it, into Vanitas' space.

His goal: to try and grab the kid's arm. And if he manages it? Time for a Vanitoss. He WAS here to show him how to handle grapples, after all~]

[ And so he became Vanyeetus.

There's a quiet as he's sent stumbling a little, just barely manages to twist his body so that he can come to a skidding stop. ]

Heh... Good one.

[ Oh, but he doesn't sound entirely happy with that, does he? And he might be rushing forward, going on the offense. ]

[ANd this time Takashi does on the defense, lifting his arms to block]

Not bad yourself.

[ No response, this time. He's just bringing a knee in, trying to bypass defense with a blow there. ]

[Yeah, he hits, making Takashi grunt in pain and step back a bit. At least he manages to turn enough that it's not a shot to his junk. And now that his shell is used there's nothing holding him back from attempting a short jab to the throat- can't really punch the kid's face, after all.]

[ WELL... Good job??

He's hit just hard enough to wind up making an awkward sound. He's never been punched in the throat before?? So, this is new.

Also, enjoy this brief opening that involves him just leaping back, briefly caught off-guard. ]
