WEEK 6 MINGLE

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.
More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?
However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.
You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?
MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

Ghost Shrine + Rat Contact
[There's a small and relatively simple wooden butsudan shrine set up in a relatively central location in the lobby. There's a small selection of flowers from the greenhouse there, including spider lilies, and some fruit and a couple of containers of ashes.
Because this is for all the ghosts, you see, or trying to be; with the storage and knowledge they have, this is the best Aoi could do on short notice. Now that there's no other way to contact the ghosts, this is a way to let them know they're not forgotten.
Makeshift as it is, people are also free to drop off trinkets and other memorials to whichever ghosts they want. Aoi will be here intermittently through the week, kneeling in front of the shrine with her palms pressed together quietly.]
II. We're All in the Rat's Race to Hell (Closed to Anthy, Chu-Chu and Various Rodents)
[Later on Monday, one (1) Blue Angel will be wandering the halls of the Resort and following the rat mazes in the walls looking for that particular inhabitant-slash-spouse. She's got Sol's stone with her, so hopefully that will be enough to get them some form of dialogue going.
One problem: Unlike the ghost-detection from this weekend, she has no idea what to call the rats. She really should have thought of this beforehand.]
... Hello...? Rat... Rats-san? Are you here?
[Help.]
ratfest 2018

She'll settle down to wait next to one of the tunnels and/or ratty areas.]
... I'm not surprised. I think the Resort's stopped responding completely by now.
[But it's not dead. It can't be, or they wouldn't be sitting here talking right now.]

[It's soft, a little uncertain, because she really hasn't been interacting with their furry Resort-hitched friends very much since the beginning. Aoi's going to reach out to let the creature approach her, though Anthy is free to take over at any point because she needs to stone-skype for a minute.
She'll pull Sol's rock out of somewhere in the folds of her dress with the other hand. Here goes nothing.]
... Sol? Are you there right now?
no subject
I AM SO SLOW ON MOBILE RN LMFAO
Oh! It's good to talk to you.
[ Chu-Chu also comes a little closer. This probably isn't the same rat he shared a cracker with the other day, but hopefully that one put in a good word for him. ]
pats
I think you probably talked to a few of us last week. Including, um, Schwarzer-kun? He said you could help us talk to the rats here. [oh, right] I'm Aoi, by the way. Zaizen Aoi.
It's gotten pretty bad here. We're... looking for any information we can to save everyone.

--Also, if there's anything they'd like us to do for them.

[There is a silence for a long time, but then-]
Um. They're crying. A lot. And they want us to save their spouse.
no subject
[It's hard to tell, because she's not used to reading rat emotions or behavior, but even Aoi can see at least that they're pretty distressed. She'll give a gentle nudge at the Rat, trying for reassuring. If the rat comes out of the tunnels, she'll even pet it, because what have they got to lose now?]
Let them know that we're going to do everything we can to save the Resort. But we need to know more about how to do it. We're looking for... a box and a door to the brain, so we can figure out how to get the Outsider out.

They said they will help you find the box!

i;
He has no idea what he's looking at, even with the flowers (not knowing the meaning of spider lilies still). He's never even seen a funeral before in his life, either, so that wouldn't help give him context.
When he spots her nearby it, he'll approach her. ]
...What's that?
[ He'll point at said shrine. ]

Aoi tilts her head curiously, blinking a couple of times while she looks back and forth between him and the shrine; but she doesn't seem surprised so much as thoughtful. It's not like Roxas looks Japanese or anything, so he can be forgiven for having no idea what the cabinet-looking thing is.
She motions for him to come closer so she can motion to the setup while she's explaining.]
It's a shrine, for paying respects to the dead. This is something we usually have for the gods and the ancestors where I come from. So the flowers and everything else are in memory. We also collected their ashes here.
no subject
Roxas comes closer as she makes her motion for him to do so. ]
...Anything could be put here in memory of them, then?
[ In memory, huh...too bad the Organization or the Foundation didn't seem to have one around. Then again, with the latter, there'd be too many to commemorate in a single one. ]

[There's probably something like it in her apartment back home, for her parents.
She and her brother aren't exactly the most traditional of people, but now that they have the space and the wherewithal for it, she at least has a moderately helpful idea of how you can assemble a household shrine. That paired with some library research and... voila.]
I mostly just wanted... to make sure the ghosts knew we wouldn't forget them or abandon them. I think a lot of them have been really afraid of going intangible this week. And the Resort stopping.
[She's run into a handful at least.]
no subject
All this time, they'd be going through so much, and yet, he hadn't even thought of something like that for them. He's ... glad someone did, though. ]
...What're some good flowers, you think? For keeping someone in loving memory, or something like that?
[ He knows there already are flowers here, but he wants to add his own, to cement that he's keeping them in his thoughts too. That he hasn't forgotten about them either, nor will he ever. ]
no subject
This was probably something that should have been done a while ago, she always thinks, but she's mostly just smashing together ideas from a couple of different people (ghosts) and trying to make it work for where they are now. And where they are now is that not a lot of stuff is working.
But this, this she can do right now. Aoi goes quiet for a little bit as she contemplates the question.]
... Spider lilies. [a brief gesture at them, delicate and blood-red] Are flowers planted at graves where I come from. They symbolize death and separation. Chrysanthemums, for grief. There are other ones, but this is what I found on short notice.
[She is actually not the flower expert here, she just spent a while in the library.]
no subject
[ Actually he did, but Anthy did mention them briefly in that crazy mess of a trial, but also a lot was happening back then, so.
No one probably had figured something out like this now for that very reason--a lot of stuff just kept on happening. Now even though a lot's happened and things are not over just yet, it's finally settled down somewhat... ]
I'll definitely bring some more to add on here, and thanks for setting this up. I like the idea, and I'm sure they appreciate it too.
no subject
Spiders are the worst, okay.]
... I hope so. I was planning to add items and other things to represent everyone whose ashes aren't here. [that's not standard either, but neither is death here, all things considered] It was Kurosaki-san's idea from a while ago. He'd better get back in one piece to see it properly.
[There's a hearty sigh here. Why are their resident ghosts Like This. You'd think a shinigami would have a slightly more practical view on death.]
no subject
[ Spiders really are scary as it is, but spider lillies are actually pretty enough that Roxas wonders a little as to why they were named in the likeness of them at all. ]
...Yeah, he better. We've gone through too much trouble for him or anyone on our side to end up gone for good.
[ Just wait until he finds out the dead are throwing themselves into deep trouble to get shit done. ]
no subject
Kurosaki-san is a shinigami. A god of death. So... I guess he knows more about this stuff than most people. [just wait until they both find out about the dead throwing themselves at double death, but then again that's not really all that different from any other week] Let's just hope it lets him avoid it, too.
i
...Is that an altar?
no subject
[I just spent like half an hour trying to figure out the difference between altars and shrines and the result is #yolo.
Aoi raises her head from where she's rearranging things a little in there and gives a little wave.]
I just set it up the way it would have been where I come from. I guess not everyone would know what it stands for, but there are probably enough people on the other side to explain it.
