Because the Tiger happened to be running right near it and was expecting to hit solid wall with its feet, but hit an open door.

There is now a confused tiger on the floor outside of the zero gravity room.]

[ Kohaku is slammed backwards along with the door and hits the wall hashly. He's out of commission for a short moment here as he recovers from impact.]

[ WOW GUYS. ]

Uh oh.

[ Does she need to step over a confused tiger to get out now?

She will try to pet him if she does because it's a furry cat ]

[Okay, they had a tender moment of solidarity for saving Cinque, but 'tiger slamming through the door' sort of distracts from that as Rean moves out of the way instinctively, only sparing a brief glance at Kohaku. Sorry dude?! But right now the girl trying to pet the tiger kind of takes precedence here??]

Wait, Cinque, stay away from him!

[First step is trying to pull her away from the tiger, although how successful he will be is probably inversely proportional to how determined Cinque is.]

[As Rean tries to keep Cinque back, Snake tries to move forward.]

We need to keep him down - we can't let him get away!

[He doesn't have much but a wealth of arms to restrain it with, however.]

[ BUT REAN. ITS A KITTY.

But she'll let him tug her away after she manages to lay a hand on him to touch him gently. ]

[ She'll change into Inaba while kitty is dazed. ]

Atsushi, are you in there?

[She would, yes.

The tiger is also pulling itself to its feet, though it looks a bit wobbly. And now it is sniffing at the air and trying to sort out what the fuck just happened.

...or well, it WOULD be, but. The tiger now instantly focuses in on 'Inaba' and sniffs at her, trying to see if she smells familiar. Which she will, since doppelganger, but it still sniffs and checks.

And then it steps closer to Cinque-as-Inaba and will nudge her hand with its head.]

[ THIS IS SO CUTE OKAY

Sorry everyone but shes definitely petting the tiger. ]

There you are. Your friends have something they want you to hear.

[ She'll keep petting him, but pulling out tablet so the ghosts can chime in, too. ]

Inaba is actually having extreme war flashbacks right now because of this but give her a second to just type something out, although people in the area of tiger (because yeah, she stuck around) might see tears falling out of nowhere, dripping onto the ground before placing an invisible hand on Cinque-as-herself's shoulder. ]

I'm sorry that I couldn't help prevent this, Atsushi.

But. . . no matter what happens, I still believe that you're in there. There's a reason I went through lengths to do so much for you, because I wanted to help you, no matter what happens.

I told you once, and I'll tell you again, over and over until you can hear me. I'll stay with you. I'm still scared, you know. Of losing people, of losing you. I think of the worst possible outcomes, but even so. . . I still believe in your ability to change.

[ A pause, and then, more text for Cinque to read aloud: ]

You told me this, didn't you? That your life is better now because I'm in it? Well, the same goes for me. Because you were here, I was able to change. I think I've managed to grow stronger now. And I couldn't have done that without your support.

I'm going to stick by your side. I don't care about the trail of death that might follow me because of it. Because I believe in your ability to change. To realize that you and the tiger are one and the same. I know it's hard to accept that. I get it, I really do.

If you don't accept it just yet, we'll work on it. Together. Because I'll accept you. All of you. No matter what.

Because I love you, Atsushi. You're really important to me, and I mean that.

[Once the action audibly dies down, the earpiece in Cinque's possession crackles.]

Atsushi!

I-I know you can hear me. The tiger... is apart of you, right? So... I think you can control it, even if you personally think it's impossible. To... quote someone else, "The impossible is possible".

And... We talked about changing at the research meeting, remember? You said you wanted to change! I... I believe you can. So... please. Atsushi, make this be the last night you lose control. Make that the first change.

Wake up!

[There's a bit of quiet as Tsumugi hands over her earpiece to anyone else who wants to talk.]

[The tiger does seem to stop and listen for a bit. Or, well. It listens as much as a tiger can. It doesn't really understand the words being said, but it recognizes the voices.

But this is a tiger, and tigers will do as tigers do.

Namely, it is going to try to cronch whoever is closes to him that isn't 'Inaba'. Who gets bitten?]

[For a moment there, it does seem to be working; the tiger's somewhat pacified and listening even if they can't really read its emotions. But there comes the bite, and while Rean's reflexes are pretty good, it catches him off guard so he doesn't have time to move so he gets a nasty bite on his arm.]

[...Okay yeah, he isn't having any of this. There's a hiss of pain as he hit lands, but there's a flicker of something in his eyes as tries to draw away before.

Well, it would probably be more accurate to say that his lower body basically explodes into an arachnid's abdomen, and his spinnerets are aimed right at the tiger, ready to catch him in some webbing.

Congrats, guys. You found the Jorogumo.]

[First of all, that arm is coming right the fuck off, because tiger jaws.

Secondly, new prey. The tiger is going to try and knock Rean off balance, right into some rather important-looking technology that keeps the zero-gravity room running.]

[It's fine, he can live without a left arm, he's got this. He's not really sure what he just got knocked into, but he doesn't really care at the moment, not now.

Not when his pulse is drumming in his ears and the scar on his chest burns like it's been set on fire.

There's no point holding back, so with an animalistic roar, Rean's body is surrounded in a dark, heavy aura as his hair goes white and his eyes flash red. And then he's off, heading straight towards the tiger, aiming to slam him back into the wall.]

[The tiger is easily slammed into the wall, which will in fact crush in the wall and leave a substantial amount of damage to it. The tiger roars in pain, and looks ready to attack Rean-]

[But then it is suddenly surrounded by a blue glowing light, not unlike moonlight, and it starts to shift into a much smaller form.

Within a few seconds, Rean will be holding a very unconscious Atsushi up against a wall.]

[He made a promise to someone and maybe it echoes somewhere in his mind. But right now, the only thing that he feels is a bestial rage that has yet to relent -- and because of that, there's only one way he can respond to seeing his opponent down, but not out.

He bites down, only releasing him when he judges a good amount of venom's been injected.]

[It's the pain that forces Atsushi awake, really. He's never been fond of pain.

But once he's awake he's screaming and kicking uselessly against Rean, trying to get free. He's so confused and has no idea what is going on, but it hurts and he just wants the hurt to stop.

His struggling will get weaker as Rean fills him with more poison, though.]

[ HOLY SHIT. Cinque is turning back to normal! ]

Jojo! No! Stop, please!

[ She'll run over there to grab him ]

[When the struggling starts to subside, Rean will drop Atsushi on the floor unceremoniously, no longer paying any mind to him. Especially not when he ends up clutching his chest with his remaining arm and gasping heavily for breath as his hair and eyes go back to his normal color, although the spider half remains.

He can be grabbed, although he's not really... in a state to pay attention to you Cinque, sorry.]
