INVESTIGATION (?)

Friday morning comes and goes with no dead bodies to discover. Saturday morning passes with no trial. For two days, it seems like the Lady might be keeping to her word. This might truly be a week of rest, with no outside trouble brought in.

(She takes no responsibility for the incident in the vents, so.)

But then on Saturday night, close to midnight, the sound cuts off throughout the resort. The cause of the sudden quiet is unknown, but one thing is clear: something bad has happened.

[But then it is suddenly surrounded by a blue glowing light, not unlike moonlight, and it starts to shift into a much smaller form.

Within a few seconds, Rean will be holding a very unconscious Atsushi up against a wall.]

[He made a promise to someone and maybe it echoes somewhere in his mind. But right now, the only thing that he feels is a bestial rage that has yet to relent -- and because of that, there's only one way he can respond to seeing his opponent down, but not out.

He bites down, only releasing him when he judges a good amount of venom's been injected.]

[It's the pain that forces Atsushi awake, really. He's never been fond of pain.

But once he's awake he's screaming and kicking uselessly against Rean, trying to get free. He's so confused and has no idea what is going on, but it hurts and he just wants the hurt to stop.

His struggling will get weaker as Rean fills him with more poison, though.]

[ HOLY SHIT. Cinque is turning back to normal! ]

Jojo! No! Stop, please!

[ She'll run over there to grab him ]

[When the struggling starts to subside, Rean will drop Atsushi on the floor unceremoniously, no longer paying any mind to him. Especially not when he ends up clutching his chest with his remaining arm and gasping heavily for breath as his hair and eyes go back to his normal color, although the spider half remains.

He can be grabbed, although he's not really... in a state to pay attention to you Cinque, sorry.]

[honestly, Makoto hears the screaming and immediately runs upstairs-- by the time she reaches the top, she's already in her Phantom Thief uniform]

Atsushi--

Johanna floats behind her. But she's stunned by Rean.]

[He's only barely able to pay attention to everything that's going on around him, although his eyes flicker over to Makoto for a brief second. He's still breathing heavily and there's a couple of coughs to go with it, but here he is in all his armless, spidery glory.

What do, Makoto?]

[she's going to heal him. now that the shock's worn off.]

[Sorry Rean, you’re not getting time to relax. The calvery is here and there is hair shooting out to wrap around your legs.]

[He's ensnared by the hair and it causes his eyes to widen in surprise as he's caught, but he doesn't struggle that much against the bindings, only looking over at Tsumugi as he tries to get his breathing under control. He finally manages to choke out something, though.]

[She really isn’t in a good mood right now Rean. Pick your words carefully.]

[Snake's gun is immediately being pointed to Rean now. The only thing stopping him from shooting is the complicated bullshit surrounding these monsters.]

[He sees the gun and gives Snake a weary look, but he's not moving from where he's already camped out. Being disarmed (ha) is bad enough already, he doesn't want to lose his head anymore than he already did.]

[Other than moving the Jorogumo to a new house, anyway.]

[ She now has a Jojo and is looking between him and Atsushi. ]

Cinquey is reporting in! We have three injured upstairs!

[ She repeats the message on the tablet to the ghosts in chat. ]

[Aoi’s been mostly hanging back, keeping carefully out of the way since she’s not the type to go tiger-wrangling when it’s already a free-for-all. Her eyes only narrow slightly when the Jorogumo reveals himself, but once things have finally calmed down and Rean is on the ground, she makes her way hurriedly over to where he and Cinque are grouped, kneeling by them.]

Cinque— Cinque, I don’t know if it would help, but try a heal on him?

[Atsushi will go ahead and just lay in a pile on the floor.

He's not dead (yet), but he's not doing so well right now either.]

[look, she's not got the medical expertise to help Rean, and honestly she... needs to kneel beside Atsushi.]

Atsushi, Atsushi, can you hear me?

[She looks at him from where she is with Rean.]

[ Even though two of the people that this ghost really, really likes are injured heavily, while he might be laying down on the floor he'll be able to feel a bunch of tears on him.

This is all bad and it sucks. ]

[From his position, he just looks at Atsushi laid out on the ground, unsure how to feel about all of this. He could apologize, he could try moving to help him but ultimately, he just sits there and watches silently.

Sometimes you just don't know what to say.]
