INVESTIGATION (?)

Friday morning comes and goes with no dead bodies to discover. Saturday morning passes with no trial. For two days, it seems like the Lady might be keeping to her word. This might truly be a week of rest, with no outside trouble brought in.

(She takes no responsibility for the incident in the vents, so.)

But then on Saturday night, close to midnight, the sound cuts off throughout the resort. The cause of the sudden quiet is unknown, but one thing is clear: something bad has happened.

[Alright, that helps. It's times like this that Medic really misses being able to talk. He'll hand Gerome a note, but if he's too out of it to read it Medic'll try to get Cinque to read it aloud for him-]

Katherine wants you two to drink her blood to fully heal you both. Are you alright with trying that?

[ He squints pretty hard at the note and it seems to take him a while, but, yes! He reads it. ]

[Medic nods, before remembering that. Can't be seen.]

Alright. How's your pain, on a scale of 1-10?

[While Gerome reads that, Medic goes back to working on cleaning Gerome's wounds and setting aside bandages and gauze.]

[ It's so weird to have someone invisible working on his injuries??? He allows it, at least, but he has too much pride to give anything but an evasive answer to the question. ]

... It's manageable. [ Despite his words, his grimace, shallow breathing, tense body, and the way he seems to want to recoil from Medic's touch indicate probably he's on the higher end of the scale. ]

He prepares a syringe from his first-aid kit.]

I'm going to inject this into your muscles. It won't hurt, and it'll make your pain ACTUALLY manageable. Alright?

[ They gotta be Like This. In his defense, he's from medieval fantasy Europe!! You either get a healing staff or you deal with it with less advanced medicine.

Frowning deeply though like... Injections??? He hates this, thanks. It takes him a while before he nods slowly. ] Make it quick.

[The injection is painless, and after a few minutes the pain should reach a tolerable level for Gerome. Meanwhile, Medic started on bandaging him up.]

[ There's a groan from this guy!

He will squint at the note... ]

... What? [ UGH EVERYTHING HURTS ] Sure, whatever...

[ One second, he's doing that stupid thing of trying to sit up-- ]

[Sorry, he's getting two shaking hands pushing him back down.]

[ He blinks up at Tsumugi. ]

Oh... Hey.

[ THIS ISN'T A TIME FOR HELLOS, VANITAS... Though, finally, he seems to realize she's... crying? He gives a small, partially-out-of-it smirk. ]

Tears don't suit you...

[There's a cross between a sob, a frustrated noise, and an laugh at that.]

W-well, it's your fault I'm like this now. Scaring me, Roxas, and Yoshi like that...

[Her attempt at a glare is really not working with all those tears.]

Y-you're in so much trouble.

[ He studies her for a moment... ]

[She hasn't taken her hands off from where she pushed them down. So, it's likely noticeable when they ball into fists.]

You almost died.

[There's something in her voice. She didn't think she'd get attached enough to anyone here to be this upset if they died. But here she is. Attached and realizing she doesn't know what she'd do beyond be furious if Vanitas actually died there.]

[ He's releasing a quiet sound, wincing as he just. Releases a growl and lets himself get pushed back down. ]

... Whatever happened to that guy? [ hand running down face ] They take Atsushi out, or...?

Just finished bandaging Gerome. other people are dealing with the tiger for now

don't get any ideas, by the way. your wounds are nasty and you are not going out there and playing hero for a while

[At this point Medic is just assuming all these ppl have death wishes until proven otherwise]

[ He just rolls his eyes... Which isn't a good idea, with how his head kind of hurts? Oof. ]

[ Vanitas is letting out a sigh. ]

Guess we should be lucky Atsushi's the only one that'd be affected by that moonlight...?

[ As far as they know, anyway. ]

[ Guess who's still nearby, guess who is probably going to try to help him stay down. Him.

Even if there's a relieved look in his eyes, and he feels like he's about to cry but he manages some other words for the moment... ]

[ UGH, FINE... Anyway, there's a smirk. ]

[ He lets out a tense breath. ]

[ Roxas sighs softly, and he wants to give him a hug, hold him close while also smacking him for doing something so stupid.

But unfortunately Vanitas is still recovering so that's not happening. He's already upset, but it's juxtaposed with the feeling of relief at the moment of it all, and he moves a hand to lightly touch Vanitas' cheek. ]

Of course I did...you idiot.

[ Said fondly, even if his voice kind of is breaking, and his eyes getting watery. ]

...You're lucky I - we found you when you did. What were you even doing? Being out that late?

[ Oh... Without meaning to, he relaxes a little against that hand, though his brow tenses as he looks to the side. ]

I don't actually remember why I was walking through there. All I remember is that I saw a bright light... that turned out to be the moon, apparently. I tried to go outside with Cynthia, which didn't work.

[ He shifts a little, brow tensing more. ]

Next thing we knew, Atsushi was acting weird... Suddenly, he turned into that creature and mauled Cynthia. [ holding a blink, sighing ] And Gerome tried to kill it, but his weapon broke instantly.

[ Jawline tightening for a moment, and then he's looking away. ]

So, I... dragged Gerome away. That's all I remember.

[ . . . . . . . hm ]

[ More invisible hands time! These two are small, however, and clasping his hand because everyone else is already shoving him down again.

They're staying out of Medic's way. ]

[ The hand in his doesn't register, at first. But, when it does, he blinks softly as he glances over to it. ]

[ The grip tightens slightly, and the whole body moves, like someone is nodding vigorously. ]
