WEEK 3 - TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.
The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...
On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'
As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...
23 GUESTS REMAIN.

CATHERD 2.0
[A deep breath, which she lets out in a sigh. They've definitely made progress, but not in a direction that's absolutely helpful for the vote.]
We know that the Barghest killed Iwai-san, but we don't know who the gloves there belonged to, or what the story is on the items in the room with him. We know that the Jorogumo killed Inaba-san, but we haven't narrowed anything down, other than that the killer might have been close to her -- she called them a 'Tsunderegumo' -- and knows the symbolism of spider lilies. We know that the Doppelganger as Owain killed Shirou-kun, and that the Barghest and the Jorogumo were somehow involved, but we only know that the Jorogumo put up a web there and used web at the pool. A little like when it killed Granz-san, with the towel.
We probably know the motive for the murders: the mafia somehow found out about the Seeker and the Inquisitor, and wanted to go after Iwai-san to get back at Akira-kun.
I think we should look at the questions we haven't answered about the murders, and also look at the relationship of the killers to the dead. Shirou-kun was tricked, and Inaba-san seems to have been ambushed, but how did Iwai-san get to the second floor? Was there someone close to Inaba-san she would have opened the door for at that time of night? How was the Barghest involved with Shirou-kun's death?
And if anyone has more details on any of the murder scenes or the victims or anything else, now's the time.

[. . .]
. . . since none of the evidence is really pointing us to anyone, and because evidence hasn't been an important factor in voting in the past two trials, I'm going to go with my gut this week.

What does your gut say?

Re: CATHERD 2.0
[He shudder at the thought, looking ashen]

So he was definitely all the way on the second floor. If he was cut before he died, was there a fight? Or did something else happen...

[He frowns a little to himself, shaking his head.]
She... must have been really, really convinced it was necessary.

It's annoying that I gotta be the one to bring this up yet again, but Atsushi is who she was closest to, right?

[He sighs, though, thinking about the rest.]
Makoto and Akira had dog prints on them, so... Somehow, they got into the room we were all staying in. Maybe that's how they brought Iwai out.

...The puppy could go through stuff right?
[ ...like how it got into the trial before. ]
no subject
...Wait, are we thinking it literally dragged him out through the door?

[This line of thought had been on her mind.]
If so... has Inaba-san been having romantic tension with anyone?

Th-That doesn't mean anything here!

Definitely not tsundere, either.

[He frowns a little, tilting his head.]
Like... someone who has tsundere tendencies. Not just towards her.
