The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

To your third point: Owain wielded the sword in public. Anyone could have seen him using the magic without his notice.

That's. . . true. But narrowing it down to the people who took active interest in his sword to talk to him about it is important, too.

If that's your logic—you misrepresent Cynthia and I's knowledge. We have no need to ask how the sword works. We knew from the start.

Iwai's interest was clear. He seemed to have an interest in weaponry, and that same week I saw him with his own magic sword. I can offer no insights on why Cinque, Tsumugi, or Makoto would be interested.

Cinque just likes fighting - and unless you found any glitter at the scene, I doubt she's involved. She was dowsed in it.

Because Cinque decided it's party time and went for it before anyone could duck for cover.

It’s the kind of sword you would find in an RPG. Why wouldn’t I be interested?

We shouldn't discount that someone who didn't ask him about it may have taken an interest though.

[after all... the medic took an interest in Syazel... and look what that got them...]

It also might help to establish what Owain told those who did ask him.

My conversation with Owain was cursory, I just knew he was impressed with the sword and that he was proud of getting more magic from his mother than he thought he'd had.

We spent more time discussing nuclear power than anything else.

I don't think he truly understood, but he got the concept well enough. Owain is secretly rather clever.
