WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

They really went off on a lot of tangents, didn't they? But I guess that was the last guest we heard about, from the guestbook.

This place really doesn't have any normal guests.

oh right the outsider!!

flat found these notes that were half eaten but they talked about how the outsider is where he shouldn't be, making his way up through "our" veins like they can feel the resort i think? it talks about how they believe the immune system can catch him before he hits anything vital but they're worried about the state of the guests if anything should happen

the reason the captain is sleepy is because of the massive immune response needed to fight off threats and because of his absence the staff is starting to not respond as they should

...I see. I was wondering why we couldn't find him, but he was hiding in the "veins", was it...?

...It looks like we're going to need to head there after all.

[Looks like Akira had the right idea. We need to explore the vents in the near future.]

Even if you say that, he's already shown signs of being able to control the staff. That means that he's managed to compromise something already. If we let him stay in there, things are only going to get worse.

if he's going through the resort and they're worried he's going to hit something vital

do you think he's trying to get out of here by killing the resort?

I doubt it. Rather, I suspect that what they're after is to control the resort. If we think of the resort as a living being, then what would happen if a foreign body were to take over the brain?

...Yes, bad things. In the worst case situation, if they don't know what they're doing, they could kill the entire thing, which would probably mean death for everything inside of it. Assuming they do know what they're doing, they'll likely be able to manipulate the resort however they like, and that includes being able to decide whether any "guests" inside live or die.

He hasn't exactly shown himself to be particularly trustworthy either, so we should assume that if he does take control of the resort, he won't be friendly towards us.

but maybe 34 hid the note there specifically for me to find it?

the other notes flat found were half eaten though. one was so covered in oil we couldn't read it!

I think it's pretty logical to think the outsider is that senior agent, right? The one trying to stop Kurosaki-san from talking, and maybe they're even stopping you guys from talking to us?

[Is that what the washtub was all about or is Nanashi just clumsy: a mystery.]

Does that mean that if the immune system is busy with the outsider... Akira-kun didn't meet most of them? Or does it mean there are even less of them now?

i thought the staff was stopping us from saying things? because it's their program

unless you mean the washbin but uh that only happens with 34's letter so i think that's their fault somehow. a washbin fell on flat when he tried to read it with magic without opening it too

i don't know about the immune system but be careful ok? :<

... It might be worth looking into, if they're getting more distracted away from stopping us...

i'm definitely not strong enough to go in there myself anyway

I think it's safe to say you guys are still being watched too...so be careful, and don't do anything reckless just because you're a ghost now, okay?

i didn't even get a migraine from looking around this time!

Hmm. We don’t know where this outsider is, but if we tried the vents from a few different directions, we might be able to get a sense of how the immune system is moving.

[It would still probably be dangerous, but they aren’t going to get anywhere without risk in a place like this.]

We're not going to gain anything if we don't take a few risks.

And who knows? If we check it out, we can learn something we weren't really expecting to.
