WEEK 3 MINGLE

WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

Any luck training him?

[Tsumugi has been a bit wary of the puppy ever since some revelations about the Barghest in the trial. But... it's still cute and hard to take seriously.]

I wouldn’t put it down to luck.

[Puppy eventually sits, though it’s unclear whether it’s due to Snake’s command or just that it’s little legs got tired. He gives it a scrap of meat anyway, hoping it’ll get the right idea.]

Little guy’s hardly a domestic breed. It’s gonna take a lot of work.
jumpedtheshark: A very nervous girl (Nervous Tsumugi)

Yeah... I thought he was a wolf-dog when I first saw him.

[She's hoping Snake is successful in his endeavor. It'd be a shame if they had to put the puppy down if it started becoming a threat.]

There’s a few ways to tell wolfdogs apart from the usual.

[He scratches the puppy under the arm, which gets him to raise a front paw in response.]

None of them have pink, though.

Besides them looking wolfish?

[A glance at the pink.]

That... is a plain unusual color on any dog.

I’d think it was dyed if I didn’t know any better.

[But unfortunately that’s not the case. Reality is worse. Again, unfortunately.

He’d rather not think about that and think more about the dog thing though.]

A lot of working breeds look wolf-ish, doesn’t mean they’re wolfdogs. It’s a common mistake to make.

[A hum of agreement. Reality sure sucks sometimes.]

I see... well, how else do you tell them apart then?
tacticalespionageaction: (hhhnnrrhhh)

[personal profile] tacticalespionageaction 2018-12-14 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Their noses.

[Take the puppy as example.]

Easiest place to start. If it's not black, there's no wolf.
jumpedtheshark: Finger up and talking (Adjust Glasses)

[personal profile] jumpedtheshark 2018-12-16 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, I didn't know that.

[The more you know, she guesses.]

How else can you tell?
tacticalespionageaction: (stop smoking we love you)

[personal profile] tacticalespionageaction 2018-12-18 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a lot of things to take into account. You want to consider their eyes, ear shape, face, and markings. And then there's behavior, too. A dog with a high wolf percentage isn't going to be an easy pet.

[Case in point: puppy.]

Because they have wild in them, right?

Exactly. There’s a reason we domesticated dogs in the first place.
