WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

Ah, well...That's the issue. I haven't been able to leave! I'm a touch worried - hopefully I still have my job when I can leave, ha ha!

I'm sure they would understand if you explain it, riiiight?

We're all stuck here, too. Maybe we can figure out how to leave together?

Oh dear, you too? I'm so sorry - I'd assumed you were on holiday, just like me. I hope it doesn't cut into your schooling.

I don't have to worry about school any more. I... I finished early.

[ Let's not make him sad. ]

Did you see or hear anything odd since being here?

Oh, really? How wonderful! I'm sure you'll be scouted by the finest -

- around for being such a bright young lady. At least, I'm assuming - most of my work is distinctly not in primate-based sectors, I'm sad to say. Though you do seem like lovely folk!

Hm? Well, the Staff around here have been a little strange, but I assumed they were just busy due to [INCOMPREHENSIBLE SCREECH THAT SOUNDS LIKE A CHICKEN BEING RUN OVER BY A SQUEAKY WHEEL], since that happens to be a Frightfully hectic time of year. One of the reasons I'm an actor instead of in the service industry, I suppose.

Yeah, the Staff work really hard. Have you made friends or chatted with any of the other guests here? They seem really interesting.

Ah, sorry if that's odd - force of habit with my work, you know. Anyway, I have! The [WHISTLE NOISE WHICH EVENTUALLY GROWS HIGHER UNTIL IT FADES INTO NOTHINGNESS] here is quite the character! Loves the hot tub, though that's not surprising with xin's normal environment. The 'moose' is quite interesting, too - apparently here on business, and waiting for it's co-worker to arrive.

That's really loud... [ She misses the part about the oil critter bring a character. Also Xin's? Huh?

Oh but more importantly!!! ]

The Moose has a coworker? Did they talk about them at all?

Xin does have a bit of an oldfashioned name, yes. Xin confided to me that xin would have preferred one that was a bit more modern, but xep's [GURGLING NOISE OF THE DAMNED] were quite traditional. Personally, I think it suits xep, but all beings have the right to choose, after all!

[He laughs.]

Anyway, I did find out that their co-worker is quite smaller than them - and furry, apparently. Tends to get distracted easily. Seemed a bit grumpy about it, too.

Well, you could always give them a nickname?

Hey, is the Moose friendly? I could see if maybe their partner wound up lost in the hotel!
