WEEK 3 MINGLE

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.
The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...
And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.
MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

I figure killing the monsters is what our mission is about, so that's my vote. Running away just paints a new target on our backs if we can even do it.

Killing those things is exactly what they want us to do. How do we know there's not something more to it?

[He's not going to play along until answers present themselves - not after knowing what they've all just found out.
He leans forward in his chair, thinking.]
Remember what - [Snake pauses, another name on his tongue, before he catches himself.] the Barghest was going on about at the trial?
no subject
[ Yeah, that would... probably be relevant to know more about. Right now it doesn't make a lot of sense. ]
Considering the bodies go to the rats and the souls just stay here, I am not sure what part is even being sacrificed. Maybe we're dealing with a rat god?

[Spoken with a grunt. This kind of supernatural stuff...it's all too far out of his league, it's hard to keep up with.]
They're 'guests' here, right? Hard to think the whole place isn't in on it, with the chapel as a place for executions. Feels like a sacrificial altar.
[He frowns.]
Why set us up against them, though? Sounds a hell of a lot easier if they skipped the game entirely.

[ He shrugs. ]
I'd say this as a joke too, but after all the Barghest was going on about at trial, it doesn't feel unrealistic.

[Saying that, Snake realises he might understand too well.]
Either way, too much of this doesn’t add up. If we only had a way to get more information out of them...
[He pauses, with a resigned sigh.]
I’m not sure what reason they’d have to talk in the first place.
no subject
[ Thankfully his tone suggests he isn't serious about this at all. ]

There's nothing like a good waterboarding between friends.
[...]
Could be one way to figure out what kills them, I guess.
[Joking, thankfully.]

[In fact, they may no longer be bound by the Resort's rules and kill whenver they want.]
What we need to focus on is to try to figure out how to kill them for good. Obviously, drowning...doesn't work.
no subject
... oh thank god I'm actually allowed to say that much
no subject
[Just. Making sure. Also the fact that Phil has sticky notes.]
We'll have to think of something that'll eliminate both the spirit and the person. [A pause.] Ideally, we'll want to eliminate just the spirit, but I don't know...if that's possible.

Just try to think of [Aaaaaaaand the rest of the note turns into completely unreadable garbage. Occasionally Medic tries to start his sentence over, but it's no use. Finally he just tosses the note on the ground in frustration.]
no subject
...It was worth a shot. [...] If you have anything other information that you might be able to say, feel free to talk to me whenever.
[flash forward to medic and phil just getting drunk off of their asses]
no subject
[Cheerful thoughts!]

Too bad we don't have enough people to simply test run every execution method.
no subject
[Leaving aside the part of, you know, people dying. That's plenty horrible]
