WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

It was the government before for me, but really, same thing.

[ He might have been able to outrun the queen by going to areas she has opposition in, but he'd have needed to get there. And then... what? ]

This Foundation does seem pretty nasty with all their influence. Considering the hold they have over our memories, they can probably track us as well. They keep finding the pig guy again too and all.

I was with a group called Organization XIII, they weren't really a government or anything.

[ Roxas deadass tried so hard, but then he got kidnapped by someone else who wanted to use him. So it's just been an endless cycle of being used and he's hated it, yeah. ]

...They probably put trackers on all of us, really.

[ He'll nod to that tracker comment, because it seems really likely, but the first part simply interests him more, so let's go for some personal prodding... ]

What did that Organization do?

[ ...... okay that is. Hmm.

Roxas thinks going the simple way about this will cause less confusion for now. ]

...Well, a lot of what they did was assign missions to every member there. The "Superior" acted like by us joining the organization, he could help us return to living normally or really normal lives, since those who did join were promised something like that. We were considered...outcasts.

But, basically once you joined that was it, you couldn't leave or else you'll face punishment, which could end up with someone getting "demoted" ... or worse.

[ Kohaku stays silent for a moment and then he gives Roxas a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. ]

I'd be executed too, if I left. I know the feeling.

[ Solidarity about the absolutely worst things in life. ]

[ He'll blink as he does, and really, when he thinks about it...

...It's funny how many of them dealt with such terrible groups before landing straight into another one. ]

I don't really understand why it's so hard for organizations to really get it together and not be so...corrupt.

Dunno man. Even the one's I'd joined before who seemed halfway decent were really just human garbage. Seems to be in the nature of the thing.

[ That's not really an answer, but Kohaku just decided to adopt general pessimism and take everything as is. ]

[ That definitely sounds like the right way to go about things. ]

I guess it really is something that'll be impossible no matter which world you're on. It'd just be nice if there was at least one good one out there.

[ But not even the universe is interested in keeping balance it seems. ]

Something about power of any kind just makes people go fucking batshit, apparently.

[ Good thing Kohaku never had any power in his life and is thus clearly a beacon of sanity. ]

[ Clearly...it's done a lot of good. Totally. ]

Yeah, once people get up to the top they look like they forget what it's like to be where they were before.

I always thought they were worse for being born at the top especially, but I've also seen how nasty the formerly powerless can get, so it might not matter much.

The world's really ugly that way.

Sometimes I wonder if...that was always how things were intended to be. It really doesn't seem right.

[ Roxas knows it doesn't seem right because it really isn't. ]

... Really, it'd be nice if we could just kick everyone who was just that bad right out of the world or universe and they'd never be able to come back.
