WEEK 3

Week three opens like the other two weeks, but when you wake up, you know there's been a change in the area. At first, nothing is wrong - but when you look at any window, you aren't greeted with the cheery sight of the outside - instead, there's just a cold, harsh blackness. Trying to leave out the doors is impossible, too - if you try, you just find yourself back on the couches in the lobby. On top of that....The Staff are beginning to act even stranger, their glitching out becoming more obvious. Sometimes, they seemingly go blank mid sentence and walk away, as if they were reset, and slur or stutter their words.

The weather is...well, non-existent, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. Yet, it doesn't seem like you're any closer to solving this...

And time still ticks onwards, regardless if you're ready or not.

Yes. He's... something of a celebrity in certain circles, back home.

Oh you know. Shaking up thousands of years of status quo. Taking on the most powerful beings in our universe. There are none among the spirits who haven't heard of Kurosaki Ichigo

... No wonder Nanashi said his numbers were ridiculous.

[So he's not only buff in person but buff in reputation too?!

Anyway this is some kind of ghost talking about a shinigami so she's going to assume Szayel knows what he's talking about, not that she really has much of a context either way.]

But he can't do anything about this Kurotsuchi person, either? It sounds like... we're going to have to deal with this person eventually.

He could. I'm certain he could wipe the floor with Kurotsuchi.

But I suspect Kurotsuchi outranks him in the Foundation --- and the Foundation has ways of dealing with insubordination.

If Kurosaki-san is so much stronger, then why would he be outranked?

[resortghosts]

The Foundation doesn't rank people based on how strong they are.

Unfortunately.

Then how are they ranked, anyway?

I haven't regained that much information but... I suspect it's based on usefulness and loyalty.

... I don't know this Kurotsuchi guy at all, but I'm starting to see why they'd leave Kurosaki-san in a lower class. If that's what they're looking for.

[It makes her think back to her own life, again, or rather her brother's.

The similarities between SOL Tech and this Foundation just keep growing, and she thinks back again, further back, to when she and Akira were still trying to find their feet again. Surrounded by these people, it feels a little like that, too.]

Mmhmm. He can be... willful.

I don't know him all that well, but he's probably not supposed to be doing this as a ghost, is he?

How do you mean?

Helping us, and giving us all the information he's been giving us...

[She's pretty sure he's been behind a lot of their discoveries about the monsters, the resort, and whatever else. Some of that is just hearing other people discuss their sources, other times it's conjecture on her part, but she has a pretty good guessing system going on here.]

Unless there's some kind of reason for all the ghosts to be trapped here. He did say that you're not supposed to be. You're supposed to go back.

[well, considering that thing that just happened...]

I suppose what he's told us so far wasn't off limits like... that was.

And I suspect we're trapped here by the same force trapping the living. No ins, no outs.

[That sure did just happen. It means Blue Angel is sporting a pretty deep frown by the time everything ends up blowing over, though not without leaving bruises and broken things in its wake.]

But if they had to resort to doing something like that to silence him, does that mean he's not... being censored the same way the rest of you are?

[Because that was a pretty extreme display of force for a resort or an entity that could supposedly just scramble communications in the first place.]

I did notice that we're seeing the same thing you are now, by the way.

[Which is part of why she only freaked out a little bit when she looked outside this morning. For some reason she has Szayel to thank for that one. Go figure.]
