Ones where the story is structured so it's like the character is talking to you, right? And it looks through your computer's info so it can find your name and surprise you with it, and updates the game files with new information as you progress?

I guess it's kind of similar, but even the more thorough ones are pretty scripted.

Yeah. Normally you'd think living, breathing people like us coming into the game setting would cause problems... I mean, we aren't really limited to the usual commands games have.
