[CONTINUE + 3] Week 1 || Act: mingle

Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your fourth 'time' trying this monday.

There doesn't seem to be many Monsters here...or at least, you think there was more before? Huh.

Well, whatever.

You still have a mission - And with three trials under your belt, you're now a little closer to figuring things out.

...How much longer will this repeat?

We even watched it at exactly the right pace. Investigations on Fridays and trials on Saturdays.

And come to think of it, it's quite a coincidence that we found Sissel-san at the exact time we did, instead of two weeks earlier or around the same time as the other two.

... Yeah, like - don't you think that we might have found the three that survived a little sooner? Especially since the barrier was weakening?

Do you think that in that case... the game was going back and forth?

Between the past and the present.

Looking at it from a narrative standpoint, I think it would have to. After all, the conclusion took place in the "present," with a lot of people who didn't appear at all in the past as the "protagonists."

[personal profile] dereban 2020-09-04 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
... yeah.

I think the 'alternating' thing might have been consistent - at least starting with the Hotel, given that 'other protagonists' could watch what happened to us.
oceanicbutterfly: ([k] Oh?)

Now that you say that, you all were involved in our "ending" after the island, weren't you?

Yeah.

We also saw most things. The exceptions being the murders proper and what you guys were doing after you died. If that helps any.
oceanicbutterfly: ([k] Hm...)

[personal profile] oceanicbutterfly 2020-09-04 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
That seems consistent. You wouldn't have been reacting to things the "player" wasn't supposed to know yet.

[...she's also kind of relieved that this means most people haven't seen certain moments.]

That's basically it, yeah...

[personal profile] justonezero 2020-09-04 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
But wouldn't that mean the stuff that happened in the past hadn't really actually happened yet?

[This is. This is getting difficult to brain.]

[personal profile] dereban 2020-09-04 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
... Mm, less that 'it hadn't happened' and more like 'it happened, but it wasn't written in stone just yet'.

[Karen takes a moment to think of anything that might be analogous and--]

I already brought up a cat. It's your turn.
