RECORDING 15: THE FIFTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Ango, standing as firm and unyielding as ever, waiting for the time when the trial is scheduled to begin.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

[Another trial, which means more bloody bullets in individual bags for people to enjoy!!! Like before, the bags are labelled with abbreviations relating to where they were found in the body. He'll pull them out of his trench coat and place them on a table.]

I found these bullets inside Battler's chest. He'd been shot in both lungs and the heart. They were the same as the 9mm rounds found in all our standard-issue guns, and there was nothing unusual about them. The bloody footprints near Battler's body also corresponded to someone tall, like they were around 5'11 or 6'0.

[His expression says something along the lines of 'and trust me, I know how that looks right now'.]

The estimated time of death was around 11:30 pm and 12:30 am last night.

I also looked over Giovanni's body. ...Not that there was much to find besides what was already mentioned. There were some bone fractures in his skull and elsewhere, but that's not uncommon for severely burned bodies.

If you could confirm the the bullets match the ones from the Master Bathroom, in Battller's case...

These match up. I think it's pretty safe to say that these were probably fired using this gun, and then they decided to dispose of it in the bathroom while cleaning up.

I wouldn't call leaving a long trail of footprints a sign of being good at clean up. Unless you're saying that was intentional?

According to that note found, Battler seemed to have been woken up at '11:30' so it seems that other piece of evidence matches up to the beginning of that window.

So they basically woke him up just to kill him. [...] Can anyone confirm that Battler was in his room that evening?

I went to bed about an hour before that, I think. [ because schedules, plus fuck if he was going out anywhere on death night ] But he was in the room then.

That's pretty risky then, isn't it? If he was sleeping in his bunk and his roommates were there, people could have seen or heard them easily if they came knocking on the door.

You would think so, though we've also established before how the miasma conceals things it doesn't want us to notice... I'm not sure if it would work like that or not.

Yeah, but wouldn't that still be a risk for the culprit to consider? We had Zabuza running in on Haku, even though he'd just killed Flayn.

Either way, I'm not saying there would be witnesses. I'm saying it says something about the culprit's mentality.

It is, but there's the miasma to account for. It messes up the feeds every week, right?

It does, but we don't know exactly how it works. The culprit must have had to really believe in the miasma covering for them, if that was the case.

Including the victims, there are six people around that height.

Then we should line those up and consider them our main suspects for this case. It'll help narrow things down quite a bit.

Consider also: it's easy for a person near that height to manipulate their stride and sizing just by wearing a different boot.

So we can cross Giovanni and, obviously, Battler. Right now, it might be better to assume that these were two separate murders. I don't believe that Battler would kill Giovanni or vice versa.

So that leaves us with four people. The question is regarding the note that Battler had...though I don't believe there is any way to confirm if it's Battler's handwriting, now is it?

Do we have anything we can guarantee was written by Battler-san to compare it to?

We can use a process of elimination. If we confirm that the handwriting does not match anyone in the room, then we can make the logical assumption that it was Battler that wrote it.
