RECORDING 15: THE FIFTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Ango, standing as firm and unyielding as ever, waiting for the time when the trial is scheduled to begin.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

VICTIMS: Battler Ushiromiya and Giovanni Potage
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 2

WEEK 5 VOTING

[Around 5'11 or 6'0... Well... The left hand is writing for the time being.]

Including the victims, there are six people around that height.

Then we should line those up and consider them our main suspects for this case. It'll help narrow things down quite a bit.

Consider also: it's easy for a person near that height to manipulate their stride and sizing just by wearing a different boot.

[Then, she'll... get to work on that.]

1: Giovanni-san
2: Battler-san
3: Date-san
4: Osamu-san
5: Gilgamesh-san
6: Xuanwu-san

[She'll just leave that for now. These are the people to watch, at least in Battler's case.]

[ who the fuck is that last one

no he still doesn't actually know any of his names ]

So we can cross Giovanni and, obviously, Battler. Right now, it might be better to assume that these were two separate murders. I don't believe that Battler would kill Giovanni or vice versa.

[ they were good boys, brent! ]

So that leaves us with four people. The question is regarding the note that Battler had...though I don't believe there is any way to confirm if it's Battler's handwriting, now is it?

Do we have anything we can guarantee was written by Battler-san to compare it to?

[personal profile] finalring 2020-05-16 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
We can use a process of elimination. If we confirm that the handwriting does not match anyone in the room, then we can make the logical assumption that it was Battler that wrote it.

Unless somebody is or... was faking their handwriting.

You're really taking a page from Dazai's book, aren't you? [ ... ] The possibility of that always exists, but that does not mean that we can't mistrust everything that's been thrown at us. There's no such thing as a perfect murder, after all.
accessorytomurder: (colors and carousels)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-05-16 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but... the question remains, why would Battler have that page?

Maybe he was planning on leaving a note but was rushed out?
accessorytomurder: (next thing we're touching)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-05-16 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
He could have shoved it under a pillow, or tucked it into my or Dr. Neis' hand.
finalring: (pic#13912299)

[personal profile] finalring 2020-05-16 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That would probably take too much time. It's easier to just shove it in your pocket if you're in a hurry.
reanimania: (....yeah uh)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-05-16 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Still, if you're worrying about getting murdered, there's a good chance that anything on your person might be destroyed.

[ though like, he can understand why battler wouldn't want to touch him in his sleep since he was accusing him of wanting to murder him lmao... ]
finalring: (romani88_len)

[personal profile] finalring 2020-05-16 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe he knew he was going to die? Like I said, he would not be someone to go up to the Conservatory willingly, considering his...ability. But he was probably not dragged there either-- Battler's the type of person that can probably handle himself in a fight.

[ if that one moment battler was angry at him is of any indication, at least.

he pauses, thinking. ]

So maybe he went up there feeling like he had to go there.
accessorytomurder: (so we burst into colors)

That's—

[Terrible.]

...what could have convinced him...?
