RECORDING 13: THE FIFTH WEEK.

A fifth week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. It's practically routine at this point, isn't it?
Routine, also is the feeling when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten even thicker. Now everyone is at level 4 - barring the two 'lucky' negators among you, you are all suffering the effects, your eyes flashing a deep, dark purple when experiencing negative emotion.
Any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time, just like last week. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in a few hours it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also give off miasma, and healing is still reduced to even the most powerful of spells only healing minor injuries.
You will not be able to save a grievously injured person from death through spells anymore.
The Temperature has taken another dip. It's now in the 50's, and nippy to need a layer or two. As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.
17 of your number still remain.
...What new horrors await you this week?

To be honest, I'm not even sure what my type is. You are very cute and a hard worker. It would be hard not to fall for someone like that.
[ He will look for cobwebs. Just going to carefully pull out a bottle to check. ]
Maybe we should keep an eye out for any bottles that look newer?
no subject
[She keeps a (fake) eye out for anything new—or newly moved.]
...I don't know how we could test what is and isn't safe to drink, but I think you're definitely on the right track.
no subject
It's only flattery if it isn't very sincere.
[ You're cute, Yachi. ]
Nothing really stands out. Maybe we should just touch all the bottles just to be sure.
[ He'll look down at his feet and prod lightly with his flute before poking more bottles ]
no subject
[She tugs it out and gently sets it on the floor, as best she can. Then she goes through, tugging bottles out, checking behind them, and putting them back.]
no subject
[ He'll check on bottles up higher on the shelf, systematically going through them all. ]
I don't see any signs of tampering. Maybe we should open a bottle up to be sure?
no subject
[She searches through again for any notably light ones.]
no subject
Ready when you are.
[ It's muffled.
There doesn't seem to be any wine bottles lighter than the others. ]
no subject
[She picks that 1910 one and sets it down.
A moment later a corkscrew thunks down through the wax on top of it and winds down, then carefully... wiggles the cork back up...]
no subject
I keep being impressed by you, you know. I don't know what we would do without you.
[ Her ability and just everything.
And it'll take a bit, but the cork will come out. It looks like it's normal fancy red wine inside of the bottle. ]
no subject
[Speaking of help—]
Um, could you find a glass bowl or vase or something?
no subject
[ He'll look around hm. Then just grab for the bottle instead. ]
Might need to look for one in another room, so let's just take it out with us.
no subject
[Her paranoia and anxiety skyrocket, but she gives a slow handle-tilt.
And then she's human again and she's holding the bottle, because the chorus of better me than him is back and louder than ever in her head.]
...y-you're taller, so you can reach the shelves better.
no subject
I can always pick you up if you want to reach higher.
[ He's watching her hands for a moment. ]
Careful not to spill, okay?
[ He'll let her hold it for a bit. ] After you.
[ Time to head back towards the static area. ]
no subject
...Yeah. I'll be careful.
[Off they go to dump out heinously bougie wine in a salad bowl or something I guess.]
no subject
Let's go with big ass salad bowl so they are laughing alone with wine salad.
Would wine count as a salad if they mix in some weird canned fruit in there later? ]
Here we are. One bowl for the wine.
[ It's fancy clear glass bowl with silver inlay. Go ahead and pour it in ]
no subject
Glug glug glug, goes the wine.]
...I wonder if this is going to be the pie, all over again...
no subject
[ Once she is done, he's going to try to hook an arm around her to keep her there, while he leans in to smell it. All done with letting her do the risky stuff.
It smells like wine. ]
I suppose it is mental warfare. Giving people something nice after a bit of trouble to watch them jump and act cautious.
[ Also giving people nice things before destroying it is also a tactic. ]
no subject
[She has to fret over whether or not she truly has stumbled into a non-trapped room.]
...one more pass.
[She pats herself down once... twice...
Then comes up with a pen and a sticky note.
WINE. Not sure if safe or poisoned!! Do not drink yet! she writes, slapping it down in front of the bowl.]
I-It feels too easy, somehow.
no subject
[ If enough of them looks safe, he'll try it. Going to start heading out before pausing to hold out his hand for her. Want to hold hands a bit? ]
no subject
Sounds like a plan.
no subject
If it's not poisoned, we should hang out again tomorrow night. Just the three of us and drink until we can't think.
[ Then there will be something to blame when the miasma keeps them from hearing another murder. ]
no subject
[This time, she tries to look for any rare wines. Or... spider-named wines. She's not much of a connoisseur, though...]
no subject
Wei Wuxian is going to be less picky about inspecting bottles, and just pulling a few bottles from random places in on the wine shelf. ]
That should do it. Find anything unusual?
no subject
No, not that I can tell. You?
no subject
[ Lifting up a bottle to check it in the light before nodding towards the door. ]
Maybe I should have worked on an immunity to poison.
