RECORDING 9: THE THIRD TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Jack, looking expectant and as militaristic as ever.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

But this time...potentially, someone innocent...must die as well.

VICTIMS: FLAYN AND HAKU
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 2

WEEK 3 VOTING

So would you say the injuries were made one after the other or at the same time? Perhaps he was teamed up on, considering how they were oriented.

[Thoughtfully...]

It's hard to say. He could've gotten his ribs cracked earlier on, but there isn't really a way of telling when they happened unless we can figure out what actually happened in the hallway.

[Teaming up though, hm.]

Are you thinking that Flayn and Seteth attacked him?

Seteth-san would be the most obvious one to look at, but you're right -- we'd need a clearer picture of whatever happened in the hallway and even in the other rooms to say for sure.

[A shrug, and he thinks it over for a moment.]

But going with the premise that Seteth-san could have been involved in the fighting might give us some leads.

Right. I doubt he would've been knocked out for no reason, and he was even carrying a spear and a shield with him. There may not have been any blood on either of them, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have done anything else.

I find it rather surprising that he could have been knocked out so easily -- he should be trained in combat, and was alert for patrolling. And it sounds like he has experience with the creature he saw.

[Humming thoughtfully. Sure, we can roll the crest stone stuff into this too.]

Do we know what knocked him out, anyway?

I don't know. For all we know, someone could've snuck up on him when he was distracted by that creature. No one mentioned anything about him being that injured though, so it doesn't look like he got into much of a fight.

He does have a shield and magic of his own, though, doesn't he? He seems a bit more well-equipped than Flayn, and if he came upon the scene when the combatants were already exhausted...

It's something we should keep in mind.

Along with the fact that his testimony may not be reliable, even if he wished otherwise.

[ Rules grumbling in the distance.]

Right, but then we'd need to consider why he was only knocked out. If he did kill someone, then that means someone else was still there to mess with the scene afterwards.
