thefoundation | RECORDING 9: THE THIRD TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Jack, looking expectant and as militaristic as ever.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice is up to you.

But this time...potentially, someone innocent...must die as well.

"Haku was a gentle boy, AND a ninja or whatever. I won't have you say otherwise."

She had proof. Lots of proof, but she'd hold that in reserve.

"Well, then, we've heard your attempt at an alibi, haven't we, Rin-chan?"]

We've been over this repeatedly.

Alibis don't mean shit in this place. I didn't even notice my two roommates were gone.

[She gives a little shrug.

"Well, if Rin-chan says so...

One last question. Who would be the person Rin-chan would most like to kill, right now?"]

[she's not even going to hide it]

[She writes just one more message, flipping it to show her with one hand:

"Well... you can't.

Thanks for answering Aunt Rosa's little questions, Rin-chan."]

stunned into silence but in the way that pisses her off because she just got played in a matter of seconds and now she is just completely and utterly mad]

Haku was not gentle. He was refined. It's the same way that a beautiful plant can be poisonous from its leaves to its roots. We have to keep an objective mindset.

[She sighs. Then writes:

"I understand. I'll admit, I can't be objective here with Haku, Dr... he was so sweet... he was so polite... he didn't deserve that. So, you're right. I can't be objective."]

Both Haku and I have been trained from a young age in combat. He was definitely capable of killing if he had to.

[She considers that, smacking her lips, before writing back:

"...Well, did he?"]

...I don't know yet. But we can't rule it out just because...
