RECORDING 8: THE THIRD MURDER.

A third week, and this is beginning to become routine. Waking on friday, with the knowledge deep down that your number has yet again decreased.

But you must still pull yourself from your bed, and discover who is now forever gone...

As you all rise and look towards a new day, the Miasma laps at your heels...

...And around whatever corpse now lingers in the hallways...

[...Well, you've cleared most of the miasma away from the stone - though as it sits there, it clearly begins to let out more thin streams of Miasma.

However, it's now easy to see what it is - a strange, intricately carved stone, with a circular crest. It's very clearly purple and corrupted.]

[Okay, now that the miasma is cleared, she can continue her own investigation into the area. Let's examine that furniture. What kind of damage did it take?]

[They look like they've been slashed up by a large sword - though given what kind of magical girl she is, she'll be able to tell that they're shallow, and weren't the main target of the blade.

[A large sword? But neither Haku nor Seteth seemed to use that kind of weapon? Was there another person involved in this fight?

Well, there's still one last thing to check in terms of the damage... Does the damage to the ceiling match that of the damage to the walls?]

While she's looking at the walls and floor, she'll notice that the floor in particular looks as if it'd been gouged out by claws.

Though this is all interesting....she feels like she won't get any more information from her surroundings. Might be a good idea to go back and more closely inspect the body.]

[That would be idea, but it looks like the doctors are on that already, so maybe she'll just check one last thing... Seteth's Spear and Shield. Do they look like they've been used in all this chaos?]

Well, that's not good.

[ Better than it could be, but still not good. What if...

Okay, let's try it. Giovanni concentrates, a little harder than he usually does when using his power, and a small cup-o-soup appears in his hand. He pops the lid, drains the soup (hey, he hasn't had breakfast!), and, using his Xtreme Baseball Skillz, pitches the cup open end down on top of the miasma-spewing crest rock. If that succeeds, he can always ease it onto the lid once they're done investigating and keep it for evidence. ]

...Anyway. Time to do this. It's definitely still significantly weirder examining the bodies of people he's spoken to than with random soldiers, but he tries to set that aside. He kneels down to take a look, though his eyes are immediately drawn to whatever Haku was reaching toward--

He's honestly tempted to just smear it away while no one is looking, but Marona and Nanaka probably both already saw it, so that actually seems like a terrible fucking idea that would make him way more suspicious, never mind.

He puts his hand to his forehead and sighs, then stands back up and... goes back to get Romani, wherever he is at this point... ]

Once you're done here, would you mind... supervising, actually? [ ugh he hates asking that, like he NEEDS supervision!! ] It looks like he was trying to write some kind of message, the entirety of which is currently the letter S, so I don't want anyone to think I'm messing with things or lying about any of my findings.

He'll carefully lift Haku up a bit (...definitely going to come back to that throat wound in a moment, why do those keep happening this week) so he can remove the top of whatever he was wearing for a better look at the injury to his back.

Is there anything more to glean here besides spherical and large (how large, btw)? ]

[It's about the size of mace or decently sized rock. Looks painful, honestly.]

Where are we estimating time of death? Looking for livor mortis, etc. ]

[Yeah, bigger than the rock.

Haku's time of death is about 2-3 hours ago, and his body is cold (room temperature cold) to the touch.]

[ Okay. Carefully turning him over to examine the throat wound then. Does it look like it was done by a blade? A claw? ]

[Definitely done by a blade specifically a shorter one. However, it doesn't seem expert - it wouldn't have immediately killed him.]

[ So it looks like he died from bleeding out more gradually? Was it clear if the blunt force injury was pre or post-mortem?

Are there any other visible bruises or other notable marks or anything on the neck/face/chest? (is he still pretty) ]

[The blunt force injury was definitely pre-mortem,, due to the way the bruises set up.

The neck cut was still deep enough to kill quickly, but not instantaneously.

As for his front, there are a few minor bruises, all pre-mortem. There's no particular pattern to them, either.]

Are there any defensive wounds, anything under his nails?

...and while we're looking for signs of a struggle, is there any notable water or anything in this area? ]

[Generally all around - kind of like he was hit with a bunch of things, but not enough to make him stagger.

There's no defensive wounds or anything under his nails, and also no water in the area around his body.

It feels like you've gotten all you can without an autopsy...]

was there something we saw that indicated one was needed?? because he's not opposed to finding something to cut with if he thinks it would be useful but ]

[She just... wants to compare the damage done to the throat to that done to the furniture. Both were done by a blade, but they were different types of blade, correct?]

1. What direction was the throat slit made in (i.e. left to right or right to left)?
2. Can he tell if his throat was slit from the front or the back?

Lastly, let's just x-ray him just in case. Any broken bones or fractures or things just lodged into his body?]
