RECORDING 6: THE SECOND TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Olympia, staring balefully at you in all of her robotic glory.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

VICTIM: JACK MORRISON
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 2 VOTING

[...So she's still a suspect after all. Well, her powers never do put her in a good light, even if this is a completely different set from what usually gets her in trouble.]

If you have any questions, ask them. I should mention that I can summon the dead to my aid, but since the only spirits here seem to be people who are cursed... I haven't had a need to.

None of my magic needs a magic circle.

[...And Nanaka sighs slightly, that reveal is going to make things much more complicated.]

Do you know how long they need to be dead to count? Would you be able to summon someone as a potential way to get around the curse?

Or as a way to help us figure things out.

As long as there is a soul left behind, I could summon them. However, the phantom - or the ghost - needs to be near me.

I'm not sure I could summon them to a vessel before their soul was affected by the curse, though. My reaction speed is still only human. And I can't keep them in a vessel for more than fourteen days.

...More than that, I don't think it would be a good idea to let anyone here be killed. I dislike violence, and the rules state that if someone dies, someone else has to be executed for murder. I can keep one person confined for up to fourteen days, but any additional people would be for much less.

I was just wondering about the idea that it might have been an accident. If it were, and the victim died in front of you, would the possibility of summoning them almost immediately after they died to protect them from being cursed occur to you?

This is of course a stretch, but I would like to hear your opinion on it.

I see. I would have tried to heal them first, but...

...No. I don't think I would risk trying to summon them back. For one thing, I would need to be able to find the soul, and I don't think any of us have seen Mr. Morrison since his death - just like none of us saw Ms. Olympia until after the trial.

For another... I don't want to see what a cursed ghost can do with a physical vessel.

Then, I do not have further questions. Thank you for entertaining this train of thought long enough to help me come to a conclusion.

[I guess this is just his life now.]

Have you ever spoken with the victim or with Yuri?
oxidegreen: (Looking ahead.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-04-25 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I've spoken with Miss Yuri, but not Mr. Morrison.

What did you speak to her about?
oxidegreen: (12)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-04-25 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Before we entered the building, we talked at camp about how she is an exorcist. Here... we talked a little while cleaning up the living room after last week.

What did she tell you about being an exorcist?
oxidegreen: (Watching you.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-04-25 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That she was one, and that SCPs handled differently from demons... she mentioned that she likes demons and studying them and becoming friends. She prefers a peaceful resolution instead of exorcising them.

Did she ever demonstrate any summonings in front of you?
oxidegreen: (Looking ahead.)

She didn't.
