RECORDING 6: THE SECOND TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Olympia, staring balefully at you in all of her robotic glory.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

VICTIM: JACK MORRISON
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 2 VOTING

[Olympia looks pretty much the same as she has all week. She is not, thankfully, carrying anything that was retrieved from any part of the plumbing.]

All of you were present last week, and as such you should remember the procedure. However, as I have little faith in your collective memories, I shall review.

- Everyone living gets one vote. Whoever receives the most votes will be executed.
- The number of people executed will equal the number of victims. If two people were murdered, the two people with the most votes would be executed.
- Any deaths that occur during trials do not count as executions. Someone must still be voted out and executed.
- You cannot vote for the dead, even if they were the guilty party.
- The person who will be executed does not necessarily have to have been the killer. You may vote for the death of any among your number. However, you must make an attempt to determine the identity of the killer.
- Voting is mandatory. Anyone who does not vote will die.

And because some of you seem to be oddly in a hurry to vote for more executions:

- The deaths of any people who are killed by myself or any future Vessel, such as "Agent T," are outside the scope of your responsibilities.

Vote using the marked station. [She motions to the voting booth.] You have six hours.

If you have any further questions, ask them.

Greenhouse - Area Around Body + External Examination of Body

[personal profile] eyeforai 2020-04-25 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Another Saturday, another trial. Because of yesterday's incident, he's stuck without his usual trench coat for like the second fucking time this stay as it hangs to dry in his room, and is instead wearing whatever he filched from the dressing room last night which is just a simple dress shirt and jacket combo. Boring, but serviceable.

Anyways, he'll pull out some pictures of the relevant exhibits and a plastic bag with the half-eaten fruit (which... probably looks pretty disgusting right now considering it's been a day but yolo) and present them on a table.]

We investigated the greenhouse. I'll let Gin cover the details of the surrounding area while I take care of what I found around the body.

Jack was shallowly buried underneath a poisonous berry bush at the far end of the greenhouse, with his arm sticking out from under the leaves. The arm looked partially skeletonized, although there were signs that he clawed at the dirt, indicating that he was probably still alive at the time of the burial.

From what I could tell, the plant grew from his stomach and basically had its roots entangled all around the inside of his body, which is what led to the skeletal appearance, although it hadn't seemed to have reached his chest and legs yet. You can probably ask Dr. Romani for details of the internal examination.

Anyway, after we took care of the plant and uncovered the body, I found that there was blistering on his fingers and similar blistering around the mouth, underneath all of the blood. I also found this [gesture at the fruit in the baggie by his head--it had a large bite taken out of it along with some traces of blood, so he probably ate this before he died. Besides that, there were no additional wounds or signs indicating that any kind of struggle took place.

From how stiff he was and his body temperature, I'd estimate that his time of death was around 1-3 AM on Friday morning. There were also some small scuffs in the dirt that led away from the body, but there wasn't anything else to provide a clear trail.

[He crosses his arms.]

I think we should establish what everyone's alibis were for Friday morning when Jack was killed.

[Rosa can be found in the living room, holding a gun and carefully loading five bullets into it.]

All right... the methodological approach worked last time. How did the body look? What did everyone find near it? Motive...?

Also, if anyone wants to just save us time and claim responsibility... raise your hand.

I was with Doctor Roman when we found the footprints, and he has photos so ask him if you want to see them.

They're dirt footprints. To be more specific, a small footprint, with a small stride, coming from the greenhouse and leading towards the bathroom.

[not saying anything but.... seriously, Rosa, this is why she can't trust you]

[....Well, shit.]

Aunt Rosa....is this really the time to do that?

[Loading the gun IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, he means.]

So...the fruit burned his mouth, that's what it sounds like. What kind of fruit is that?

[And how the hell did it exist inside this place, too?]

[He eyes the gun warily... he knows it's more common, natural for those who didn't live the way he did.

Ky does not like them still]

It's not that big of a deal, she just wants to be safe.

[Says the guy with a loaded rifle and a knife on him at almost all times, so his opinion is biased and possibly wrong, haha]

... Can I take a look at that?

[the fruit that is]

[she wants to see if there are any traces of magic on the fruit that she can sense]

I'm not going to be caught flat-footed like last time, Battler-kun!

But, don't worry, I went through all the required training. See? Trigger discipline.

[Indeed, she holds the gun without pointing it at anyone and without her finger on the trigger.]

[hm...]

A gun's not going to help much with some people, you know.

[just gonna point that one out.]

Then take out yours and make it two. We'll have twice as much chance of it making a difference, then.

[sighs, and making a point to show his standard-issues pistol is within easy reach.]

You can't really preempt those things, but we do have plenty of quick-witted people around.

[personal profile] tsunderine 2020-04-25 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not the culprit, so don't bother pointing that gun at me.

But we shouldn't go to assuming that there was a 'motive' behind all of this, either... in the off chance this was an accident.
cw_suicide: (220)

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-04-25 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
So it's easy to assume there's some kind of magic involved. Or else someone brought something with them to poison the fruit in that way...

What, Ky? You're not used to guns?

This is my means for self-protection and protection of the group. Nothing more.

Do we know why he was up at midnight? Um, the evidence seems to show that he willingly ate the fruit, b-but... hm... did the plants grow before or after he died?
